chase is an absolute disgrace, he was getting frustrated cos the game was'nt going their way so took it all out on ropati, he knew what he was doing and the intent was their all along. in a cowardly act he then taunts ropati after the incident took place. its all ok gronk and co trying to defend the lad but if it was the other way round and ropati had done that to rangi super duper chase, gronk and the rest of the cas fans would be baying for ropatis blood cos their star man got hurt.
i just hope he gets what he deserves which is a lengthy ban but he'll probably get about 2 games which is an absolute joke!

It's only natural that fans want to protect their own players but I don't think you will find many Cas fans suggesting it isn't an offense that warrants a ban. Deserving of 2 games maybe 3 I reckon. Very poorly timed challenge and it is unfortunate what has occurred as a result. No evidence to suggest it was an "attack" and it is clear that there was no leading with either elbow or forearm and it was below the shoulder that connects with Ropati's jaw. All the nonsense about the "mean look" that he gives him after is exactly that, I don't think I've seen any other expression on Rangi's face.

By evidence you mean people bleating on about nothing in particular? When there's both video and pictures showing first contact was a head collision and 2nd contact was with his upper arm?

The people saying "why did he taunt him then"...why did Jonathan Walker taunt Luke Burgess when he split his jaw in 2? Answer: at the time you don't realise what's happened.

The people saying sue him/charge him: You would need to prove beyond doubt that it was indeed intentional, every single lawyer I know would get it thrown out within an hour, especially with the pool of "witnesses" being amateur psychologists with a grudge against Chase. In fact, every single person in this thread who are calling for all this could in fact be sued themselves for libel because it would be far easier for Chase to prove that it was accidental than it would be for other people to prove it was deliberate.

In fact, thanks to this thread, if CTRLFC/Rangi Chase saw it, this website could be in a lot of trouble.

Chase's forearm appears to make first contact with the neck and whilst looking where his arm is, Chase jumps and swings his arm up and through his face.

Look at the 2nd gif posted by Dumdum, first contact from that angle appears to be a head clash. Why his arm comes up after it, well that is his terrible technique when he shoulder charges, as many people have said - he does it EVERY WEEK and 99% of the time, it's a legal hit.

It's reckless and an unfortunate accident.

I'd suggest this thread be closed because all the people claiming it to be a premeditated attack, calling for him to be charged and saying he should be sued could get this website in a lot of trouble.

Do keep up there is nothing to defend as EVERYONE else is wrong and only the Cas fans have it right.

Rangi does tend to try and put on the "big hit" with his shoulder quite often but in this scenario I still think that he goes to meet Ropati who tried sidestepping and unfortunately Chase catches him high and the arm follows through which I think is only natural. Normally the collision would prevent the arm moving forward.

In otherwords you have been digging so much that you have finally reached China and have left yourself with nowhere to go so you would rather this thread 'vanished' instead of you admiting what a charlie you made of yourself.

No, during a quiet period at work we actually discussed this and we came to a 15 to 3 consensus this thread contains enough material to successfully sue the website/individual posters.

The 3 who disagreed came to the conclusion neither party would be able to make a case strong enough to win.
