It has and was costing a fortune in rent to 88M and before that bank of Ireland & that's why we managed to get the stadium and the land that surrounds it into the Clubs ownership, so we can develop it and start earning money out of the place, more than the 14 home games or whatever it is.

Carter's brought in a new Director/owner to deal totally with getting Belle Vue redeveloped in sections. The first sectionto be done, as you hint at is the bigger east stand that runs from Donny Road, then the full length of the pitch and beyond., The old stand plus where the Superbowl and car park used to beis giving is the size we need to turn it into something worthy of the City and RL. ...back to the issue of grounds being up to standard, London were given permission to play in a sub-standard facility in 2019. If the RFL/SL had allowed clbs to upgrade back in the licensing period, I suspect BV and the Jungle would be better grounds now than they currently are with hundreds of thousands wasted on "planning"

I don't think anyone is more annoyed about the situation at Cas than the supporters themselves. It's us who have to put up with such awful facilities. The club are sleepwalking into losing our SL status if (when?) the RFL decide to reintroduce any kind of licensing or stadium criteria. The board would only have themselves to blame for neglecting the present and spending too much time making excuses based on a future that might not even exist.

Although you may be right, it's difficult for Castleford (and Wakefield) to make plans for their ground when they are expecting something to happen with a development that has full PP already passed - how many new grounds is it reasonable for any one club to pursue at the same time.

I know the situations with Castleford and Wakefield are very different but BOTH clubs understood that things were happening at Glasshoughton and Newmarket respectively.

Yes, in both cases, there should perhaps have been things done in the past but, for people to suggest that either club has sat on their booty and done nothing is just wrong and some should count their lucky stars that they are not under the control of WMDC.
