To be fair....we've only played twice (as opposed to most teams three) and would certainly not been classed as favourites going into Barrow away or Leigh at home (which we got the bonus point in)
In the NRC before that we got three wins from 4 and had 9 points, which would have been easilly enough for us to go through in the other group.
So while I do not necessarilly disagree with you, that is not the story results on paper so far suggest

| Maybe Jemmo, one thing for sure though the league will be tough yourselves and sheffeild have both took bonus points from Leigh, Sheff also pushed Widnes close, Toulouse will be hard to beat on their own patch, obviously with their exemption Its hard for me to look further than yourselves and Gateshead for the drop, as a Barrow lad I am completley discounting us from the relegation scrap

I agree with you in all those respects, and do think we're favourites for the drop...but just think that;'s not what the first 2 games necessarilly suggest (and there's plenty of time yet)
But I mentioned before, the stability this development can bring is a lot more important to me at the moment than anything else

| Would a Sth Yorkshire named team work playing 75% in Doncaster and 25% of games in Sheffield?
I don't see either individually having a big enough RL fanbase or corporate support to survive stand alone.

A grand final or a northern rail cup final which Doncaster were in last year. As the decision regarding franchising *cough* sorry licenses are made mid 2011 season the results from 2008,2009 and 2010 will count towards eligibility. So Donny are eligible already, I think

| I know they have had a succession of owners but have they been in Administration in the last few years? That would certainly count against them as it did for Widnes. Donny would be an asset to Super League, good large population good ground, great transport links, no other SL club in South Yorkshire. The thorny question is the Fanbase or lack of it. You could argue for lot's of clubs having SL Potential, ie; York, only pro-club in North Yorkshire, Good fan base thriving amature teams, tons of local interest and the game is widely played in schools, but NO decent stadium!

That is a very inventive idea (even if we fiddle with the percentages). In fact it is a terrific idea.
I will make sure that your idea is passed on to people who count.

I thought it was 2008 2009 and 2010 grand finalists and winners but only the northern rail cup winners and not runners up that are eligible. Not 100% on this though
