| Why are people even talking about the Willows? These franchises are from 2012 onwards, where the Willows will be gone and replaced with the sort of stadium all teams should be looking to get; Wakefield included.

3 wins is a lot more, yeah. Plus I didn't just mean wins, if I had a choice of watching Salford or Wakey I'd easily chose Salford. IMO they have offered a lot more on the pitch this season.

| Quote ="dboy"WR, Headhunter - knock yourselves out. I have listed a comparison of the grounds merits - tell me exactly where I am wrong.
Willows IS the worst ground in SL by a country mile - and that's official, not just my opinion. Hopefully, it will be in the detail the RFL disclose later this week.
BTW Wakefield's attendance is up 16% so far this season - on the back of the worst year the club has had in a decade.'" The Willows has more cover, better views, more seats and AFAIK is bigger. I'd much prefer to watch a match at The Willows than Belle Vue, although neither stadium is good enough for Super League. Either way, this is totally irrelevant like I said because Salford will no longer be playing there after this season. I was very critical of Salford when they were making all sort of claims about their stadium with no action but credit to them, they've eventually delivered something even if it's not what they had originally promised. Wakefield have still not come up with anything and next season will be one of only two clubs playing in antiqued facilities.

So the very 3 things I said the Willows was better for, you also name...anything else? No.
It would have been easier for you just to admit I was factually correct (regardless of which you prefer to watch at), but I suppose you find that hard.
You are absolutely right that Wakey should aspire to have a new stadium, just like Salford.
If you look back at this thread, it has decended to another stadium measuring contest due to WR spouting off about BV. Salford fans have zero right to criticise any other club in that regard. They should be grateful and humble for the gift that Wilkinson has worked so hard to achieve and remember where they still play.

The difference being Salford have done something about the Willows, Wakey have done fook all about BV.

Each to their own I guess. Personally I have never felt so intimidated and relieved to get out of a ground / area then the Friday night game at The Willows when we won the relegation battle match in 2007 (my only visit there). Unwelcoming wasn't the word. On the other hand have been to Wakey about 7 or 8 times, and regardless of the result I've enjoyed each visit. Traditional ground, great fans, great day.

| Headhunter - I had forgotton about you.
You must be distraught. Wakefield staying in SL, Crusaders out.
The team you despise staying in (don't deny it ...) and the team you love going out.
Couldnt have happened to a nicer chap, no really.
As for the Salford fan slating us.
The irony ....
Some of the crap I have seen written about my club in the last 24 hours has really amused me
The bitterness is amazing.
Thanks to you all.

| Quote ="headhunter"I'm no advocate of Salford, but my gripe with Wakefield is that they have repeatedly promised extensive ground improvements over a number of years and all they have delivered in that time is a giant inflatable cat over the players' tunnel. Neither club has an acceptable fan base, hopefully Salford's will grow in a better venue. I can't really see Wakefield's increasing.'"
To be fair to Wakey those broken promises were made by a totally different regime, and if they get through the public enquiry they will have a shiny new stadium in time for the next round of licence applications. I know it's early days but the new owner at least appears to be making steps in the right direction, and presumably put together a good case in their application. Lets see how things go forward from here rather than judge them on the past mistakes of a different owner.

WR, you'd be doing yourself (and the rest of the Salford fans) a favour if you didn't spout rubbish like this. Wakefield have a long and proud history and Belle Vue has been the scene of many matches which will live in the memory of Wakefield fans. There will be just as many tears shed for the end of that era as there will be at the last game at The Willows. Both grounds have seen better days (and better teams) but the memories will always be there.

Confirmed to me yesterday straight from the horses mouth that Wakefields application was not in the bottom 3!
No other clubs names were mentioned but clearly Fax and Crusaders were two of them.
Time will prove this to be correct.

If it is inflatable then the Health & Safety Expectorate will not allow knives, blades or pricks into it which means it will be almost completely limited to away fans
