He is indeed, he's saying hadn't (at a week before the game) the southstand sold out at this stage for game 1. Therefore game 2 at Headingley will need sales to pick up to rival the 18k crowd.

| Using the attendances from Sporting Life
Average Group Game attendance 2008 14890 from 12 games.
Average Group Game attendance 2013 14435 from 21 games
This is a really good figure when you consider that in 2008 25% of the group games were the big three playing each other. Aus, NZ and England had all already played each once by this time in 2008, whereas only England and Aus have played one game in 2013.
Also the additional 8 games are additional games between the minnows where you would expect lower attendances
303,151 cumulative attendance so far, 258,099 tickets sold.
If we can average about 15k for the quarters, got 70k to Wembley, and sell out the final we would be looking at about 580k cumulative attendance giving an average of circa 20714 with 465k tickets sold, compared to 2008 with a cumulative attendance of 293,972 and an average of 17,292
Edit: I missed out a game, this has been added back in

Not to nit pick but if the current cumulative attendance is 289,193
+ (15k x 4 = 60,000)
+70,000
+75,000
= ~494k cumulative attendance not 560?
EDIT: Ignore that, I can't count how many semi finals there are.

Try the normal RFL number: 0844 856 1113
The World Cup number is hopeless.

If you price it low, you don't value the sport correctly! Or something.

| In short, all is good. Indeed, it's better than anyone could have hoped.
It does make you wonder how big our World Cup could get by 2017/2021. If the Aussies and Kiwis put Sally B in charge and gave her a bigger budget and team - and god knows she deserves one - then they could sell even more than we are doing this time round. If we look at how many tickets we sold in Rochdale to the Fijians, then we can apply that many times over in NZ/Australia. For 2008, they basically opened the doors and got 300k through them with no build up, effort or belief. If I have enough time, I am sure I could put together a blue print for 700k attendances in Oz/NZ with the same sets of teams we have had. Certainly, you could double 300k with a bit of gumption.
It would be a stretch for us to match those figures, but the only way is up over here. More games in bigger stadia in France, bigger stadia for the England group games, years of work and investment in Wales (if need be, salary cap exemptions for Welsh union players), there is a lot to build on just in areas in which we have already shown there is interest.

LONDON2012 brings the £50 and £40 tickets down to £20.13, so far as I can tell. There only appears to be a couple of pairs of those still available, though - or at least, that's all it's allocating me on the Fast Tickets tab.

People seem to forget that the 2008 World Cup was run by Colin "what is my commission?" Love and Geoff "when is my lunch break?" Carr. Those two overpaid sleazebags will have nothing to do with the next World Cup. We can look forward to the management of the ARL Commission making the next World Cup a huge success.

Can we? Really? If so, it's only because the RFL have shown how it should be done against all the odds. If they were in place, they were allowed to stay there by the ARL/NRL, so the Aussie administration should share corporate responsibility.

| Yeah, 9,000 sold since Saturday according to a local journo. It shouldn't be a million miles off a sell out.
