Got 4 tickets this morning in the £45 seats for £22.50 each. That's a cracking deal and looking around for availability on that bottom tier it would seem the majority is sold out.

I'd love for the RFL to be able to sell the middle tier seats but with them being specialist club Wembley areas I presume they can't(due to them being hospitality with special bars and things). They should now open the bottom part of that top tier. They haven't released any prices for that so it's up to them what to do. All seats at £20 adults £10 concessions would be a good offer and set aside a portion of it for things like tickets for troops, charities and local schools.

Let's get 50k plus on.

I predict a crowd between 45,000 and 55,000, if it's anywhere within those numbers, it'll be a success no matter what anyone says.

RFL doing a very good job of this IMO. Nice offer before the RU world cup, then step up promotion leading up to the game after the RU world cup.

No point splashing out on advertising that will get lost in white noise.

I think there'll be 45k on, which will make for a good day and is without doubt a success. There will be lots of neutrals/newbies in the crowd, who appear more willing to part with cash than most of the "supporters" up north (who I'm sure will amuse themselves on the day by complaining about empty seats and booing their own players on TV in their living rooms).

Fair points and would certainly help if both games this weekend were tight high scoring affairs to highlight the competitiveness of the competition and that one code of rugby has games which can actually produce flowing rugby and even some tries.

For those that need tickets some sections of the middle tier have been opened up by the RFL.

That is phenomenal value.

I'd like to see them give people a few more options on that middle tier though with a couple of blocks at one end opened. It seems they'd rather sell one £60 ticket then two £25 tickets and from a solely money making point of view that's maybe fair enough but this game means more then that. If only a handful of casual supporters think 'I'd go for £25 but not for £45 or £60' then that's a waste IMO.

I've just got a really good feeling that after this weekends games the ticket prices will rocket and i'm convinced we can be close to the 60,000 mark

how can we do that there is not even a full bottom tier sold you can get 10 or more together in £45 and £60 sections. Also there is only about 39,000 available seats to buy with only having bottom tier and a small amout of middle tier on sale

Actually you are being a touch unfair there. They have released two blocks at £60 each, and then the others are £35, so not sure why you are quoting £45.

The cheap seats were on the lower tier, if they have sold out, then the next price bracket is £35, and for CW seats, that is very good. I don't expect that they will start selling any for less than that (except through this Gillette promotion).

The RFL are also doing well to keep the crowd together, they have had plenty of stick in the past for not populating where the cameras will be, whereas that is what they are doing this time.

I agree that keeping the crowd together is the way to go as it will improve the atmosphere no end.

I still feel they could open some blocks towards the end though at £25 and achieve both. There are no £25 tickets left on the bottom tier and very few people will know about that half price offer so it just seems sensible to offer as many price bracketed tickets as possible.

Not all fans will want to or possibly be able to afford to pay £35 for a ticket especially if they're a casual supporter. It may only be a small number that would opt for £25 tickets but any are better then none if the alternative is them watching it on TV.

Any further update on the ticket sales? It would be nice to see some tickets touted.

This game is on a collision course for success IMO.

The week leading up to the game, especially after the tournament has kicked off, is when sales will gather most momentum.

I think with a good push, we can get 60k on, which would be fantastic, although no doubt many on here will find a whole new negative slant to put on the event, such is life.

Not near capacity then? I think you were a bit optimistic there. But yes, I think 60k would have been the RFL's best estimate, and I'd consider that a massive success.

Regardless, I'm pretty sure that I'll be glad I'm there come the 5th, rather than being sat at home complaining about empty seats.

Guaranteed that regardless of the attendance, people who haven't made the effort to go will see empty seats on TV and moan about how it's 'embarrassing for the game'.
