I have known Dave and his parents about 20 years. I spoke to his dad yesterday.He said that he is in a coma, but they will look to try and wake him over the weekend.Due to the serious nature of his injuries waking him will be a delicate procedure. Its too early to say how bad he is as they can only run tests when he is ot of coma and the body responds or not.

The family do not want to make a big thing abouz what happened.They wish to thank everybody for the kind wishes,words and thoughts.They also ask that people do not think bad of Featherstone or the fans.A couple of idiots does not mean everybody was like that on Sunday.

Don't know if this is true but a youtube video has allegedly been taken down and handed to the police. Makes the offence even worse IMO if they posted the attack on the internet.

Unfortunately this isn't uncommon in cases like this - people are frightened that the perpetrators will find out who they are and come after them.

Those same people should hope that they never need the help of another to identify someone who has attacked them or a loved one in that case. It's spineless.
