Perhaps they sold 2,327 tickets? It's not unknown for clubs to count those who still don't turn up despite having a ticket.

You are the only one questioning the validity of the crowd, why not accept you are wrong? Maybe take an eyesight test?

I am questioning the validity of the attendance on the basis that the three stands I could actually see on TV contained no more than a few hundred spectators. I'm also questioning the validity of the attendance on the basis of comments made by others earlier in this thread when some questioned the accuracy of Salford's announced attendances last season, claiming they were exaggerated.

| The other problem for Salford is that the fans have been promised a bright future with challenging for trophies.......so why turn up in 2013?
Its clear the team will struggle, so why not effectively 'take a year' off and save yourself some cash for these promised 'glories' just around the corner?
What remains to be seen is how much will the crowds improve when the good Doctor starts to make some serious signings, will they reflect the quality of player brought in?

Your eyesight is appalling if you thought there were a few hundred spectators visible. Several hundred Wakefield fans alone were clearly visible in the main stand, along with the Salford fans. Not sure why I'm still arguing with such a blatant troll, but yeah.
Compare last nights crowd with one from last season and tell me it is 3000 smaller.. go on.

| It must be quite exciting to be a Salford fan at the moment with their chairman promising success so surely the feel good factor should entice some stay aways back.

| During the current franchised, 14 club, top 8 play-off system SL era... the total attendances in SL to date remain the lowest we have ever witnessed. Neither the replacement of the poorly-supported Crusaders with the better-supported Widnes, or the establishment of 2 new stadia, or the re-establishment of heavily-discounted SL tickets have prevented 2013 SL attendances from being the worst on record so far.

If I was a Wakey fan who had purchased a season ticket providing an average SL match price of £9.62 per adult or £1.92 per junior, I'd be gutted at the club allowing the great unwashed in today for just £5 and the juniors for FREE!
Nevertheless, a huge well done to Wakefield for clocking up an attendance of over 8,000 for a SL fixture against one of the utterly hopeless SL franchises who hardly anyone wants to watch, and which has almost every other SL club giving away tickets when they play them at home.
Please excuse me for a few minutes whilst I get all giddy inputting today's numbers on to the spreadsheet

Make sure you use the correct Catalans attendance of 14,858 rather than the incorrect 12,000 being spouted by the BBC.

The offer at Wakefield today was taken up by a few.... adult tickets were a fiver if bought before the game. On the day it was ten quid and the attendance was 8203. The corresponding fixture last year was attended by 5876. An increase of 40% (if my mental arithmetic is right).

| 40% increase at Wakey, and a good win. We will take that. Thanks Billy!

| Quote ="JonB95"Make sure you use the correct Catalans attendance of 14,858 rather than the incorrect 12,000 being spouted by the BBC.'"
A number of loyal-to-the-game, positive-news-only journos got very excited by that attendance yesterday, which is in complete contrast to their otherwise complete lack of interest in SL attendances this season.
Most sources are still claiming the attendance was 12,000 (fudge-fudge) [url=http://www.therfl.co.uk/matchday/results/report?8888including the RFL[/url
