| Must be updating the system - Could be that upper tier is opening.
As normally when an event is sold out the fixture stays on site.

| Quote ="FearTheVee"Are RL fans really saying that a double header at a magnificent stadium with the best players in the world is only worth £10-£25 of their cash?
Seriously, everyone bangs on about how much they love the game, then expect to see events like this for a tenner?
Good grief, even at £35 it's an absolute bargain. If people wanted £10 tickets, they should have bought them months ago like the rest of us. 14 of us (all but as couple non-RL fans) bought tickets for a tenner and another 5 just bought tickets at £35. If people who don't care about RL are willing to pay £35, surely the "supporters" should be too?
For people to say there are no sensibly priced tickets is just daft.'"
So many RL fans will always find a reason NOT to turn up to a game, rather than looking at the positives. I have other things I could be doing that day, but IMO this was the best of all the options. The very same fans that complain that we get poor crowds and it looks poor on TV, are often the ones that are finding reasons not to attend.

| Open the top tier would with some sort of offer on would be the good explanation.
An RFL cock up is probably the factual one though.

| Just like to clarify I'll be attending regardless of the price I have to pay.
Still doesn't stop me from thinking the RFL are making a balls up of this event though.

| Good news. With the TV ad now going out I hope the top tier gets opened and we can sell a lot more.

totally.
they may have had this strategy from the start, but seems like they are panicking now. They should have got a decent number of ticket sales by now.
if there are 3,000 junior clubs and schools playing RL seriously, they could have done deals and even got 10 people from each - thats 30k just there for limited effort. Run a couple of free (or hugely discounted) coaches from each town, club or area. They could have got these signed up months ago, along with the £10 deal - they shold have been on 50k ticket sales by now at least.
the RFL may not be cash rich, but the ticket sales for this 4N should have been run as a loss leader to get decent crowds interested in international RL again in advance of the World Cup. With a decent showing from the team (haha) they could have sold plenty of merchandise at the games to cover some of the costs.
For what its worth, I am 1 of 7 going down on the £10 deal.

| the internationals at wembey in the past attracted a surprising amount of londoners - there were some stats kicking around about this around the time of the gb v aus game - (the edwards send off one). if we can attract them out in numbers it could be a decent crowd.
note to rfl - advertise on the tube and london transport (apologies if they already do this)

| I think they've done the tube. Also Capital FM and now a TV ad. I think part of the RFLs strategy was to wait for the yawnion to finish.

| Me and Hubby would love to go to both elland rd & Wembley, but work have been more than generous with allowing us time off or releasing us early for night games etc during the season.
We received our tickets this morning for the Aus v NZ game at the Halliwell, and we just can't wait for the fixture, lets hope NZ have been able to solidify their pack and give us a better game than last week!

Not until they fill the seats they currently have available.....I can't wait to see a half empty wembley and then see the finger pointed at everyone except the fans.
Tickets were available for a tenner for ages.......if you ddin't buy one don't blame anyone other than yourselves.........anyway, Wigan and Wire can afford a full price ticket with the money they saved by not going to OT

| These £5 deals for schools and clubs, how do we know that these tickets aren't for the top tier? They aren't on sale so may just be being kept for this...
I think 50K could be reached which people will still moan at!

It will be near capacity.
