| Sounds like sour grapes. He would be good enough for a SL slot, even though he's lost pace. Unfortunately he didn't provide evidence of consistently delivering in each and every game this time around. He was anonymous in a couple of games. Anyway all the SL clubs have already taken invested heavily in developing their own half back talent.

| He's right to a certain extent. There's no doubt the NRL is a superior competition. It should be considering they have a much larger pool of players in their youth and amateur competitions and the vast amount of money they have compared to SL.

Not a pop at you but what do you mean by superior? I watched nearly every game of the NRL last year & it was OK with high skill levels, but I got a dam sight more entertainment watching the team I follow in super league & I suspect as much fun (as we are in the championship now) next season. The reason, I have an attachment to my team the results in the competition mean something to me as they affect the team I invest my emotions in. I love the game & enjoy any close fought match at any level from under 9's to international. It only becomes a problem when the two leagues play each other & you get blow out scores. It would be nice to give the Aussies a good hammering but it don't mean our competition is poor because we don't. As for the gentleman's comments, He hardly set our competition ablaze did he?

| Why does it matter if there ahead of us they always have been I find the NRL boring to watch most of the time and especially the SOO games which used to be great the games gone sterile since the biff was eradicated out of it

| Agreed. Never really understood the NRL sockfest.
Higher intensity? Yes
Fewer errors? Yes
More entertaining? Not at all
Some of the best games ive seen have been between two 'less glamorous teams'
I think its all too easy to jump on the nrl bandwagon. People think theyre somewhat cool or above, if they watch nrl.
Well i watch it, and i'd say a good 80% of it is cakamala.

Its like people think our success will come from pure intransigence.

And it wouldn't be a problem if our players knew how to adapt and cope with the pressure when they do meet an Aussie team. There is an issue with quite a few teams in not knowing what to do when plan A doesn't work. And it's ultimately the lack of brains controlling the team on the pitch, and the error rate is ultimately what does for us.
And the best games over here still need evenly matched teams, and there aren't enough of them.

| So Soward is saying he looked good a few times in one of the top teams in a league that's 20 years behind the NRL.
How sh|t is he?

| The same Jamie Soward who said this after the end of his 2nd London spell just a few months ago?
“I’m off contract and my services are available,” he said. “I’m open to offers. I would play in the Championship but Super League is more realistic because of the salary. I want to come back and start a family over here with my missus. We’re interested in travelling over."
Take it he's bitter because no SL clubs wanted him then.

| Probably, but SL is a long way behind the NRL. IMO the coaching looks really poor in SL at all levels, based on what teams churn out. The other issue, which really is unforgiveable is that physically SL has fallen way behind the NRL. All the backs that go to the NRL look way too lightweight. There's no excuse for full time players not to be at least as physically fit as NRL players.

| Say what you like about the man himself, or question his motivation for saying what he said - but he's still right; SL is, unquestionably, years behind the NRL, in almost every conceivable way. It's so obvious it's almost not a criticism - just a statement of fact. The appropriate response, rather than spluttering outrage, is probably "No $h1t Sherlock."

Is the correct answer.

| Well my respect for Hardaker has gone up after he said this
Jamie Soward has been slammed for labelling Super League “10 years behind the NRL”.
Englishman Zak Hardaker, who has returned to Super League with Castleford after a brief stint with the Panthers, took aim at the former Dragons halfback with an extraordinary spray.
“When Soward came over I thought he was rubbish,” Hardaker told the Loverugbyleague website.
“You can’t really listen to a guy who came over, played for London, was probably one of their worst players. No one wanted him at the Panthers, then he goes to play Championship.
“You can’t really listen to someone who’s been rubbish in Super League. So I would take his comments [with a grain of salt.”

I guess all the Panthers fans would also agree.
Even Joey Barton would agree...

TBF I think their is plenty more players whose opinion would be more valid on SL/NRL than a guy who had two short stints at a club who teams could beat without getting out of 1st gear in his first spell and his second spell in the championship. Guys like Brett Hodgson, Monaghan brothers, Lauitiiti, Blake Green, Tommy Leuluai, Danny Buderus to name but a few who actually played for a number of years over here and are much better placed to comment on the issue of the gap between the competitions.
