Leigh players & fans were an embarrassment to the game today with the constant whinging about correct decisions & thuggery.

This goes to the heart of the observation that Leigh are not really suitable for Super League. They are an excellent Championship club which can keep the Leigh masses entertained at that level.

Ben Murdoch-Masila? One of his quieter games yesterday but was the only forward in the SL "Top Try Scorers" list last time I checked.

Yeah he has been sensational this season. Unstoppable at times.

Good shout that, every time I've seen him this year he has been awesome.

Surprisingly, after 28 years of dross (bar one season!) it's quite enjoyable watching Salford this season.



It's so refreshing seeing the likes of Cas, Salford and Wakey playing so well and playing some bl00dy good rugby in the process. For years us Salford fans would have looked at Wire away as nothing but a good spanking but a follow up home match against Wakey as a great chance to pick up 2 points. Still confident of our chances after yesterday but should be a great game against a really decent attacking Wakey team.

Only bumped into one Wire fan post match yesterday and it was comedy gold. He was obviously a big local fan with his Cumbrian accent

who proceeded to tell me (and the other half dozen Salford fans at Bank Quay how we shouldn't be gloating (which we weren't) and how corrupt the RFL and Super League was that we were having tries allowed for forward passes and that we have a fanbase (no poop Sherlock) and we'll never work as SalChester Reds etc etc....

Can't remember the last time Salford had a player make it into the SL Dream Team (Alker?

) but we must have 3 or 4 in with a shout this year (BMM, Lui, Kopczak). It really is a team effort tho with Salford (exact opposite of last few years) and quite a few unsung heroes playing out of their skins. In Wire's programme yesterday (a well put together read btw) they listed the 1992 Dream Team. 9 Wigan, 1 Cas, 1 Saints,1 Wire & 1 Widnes. As it stands I'd expect a minimum of 4 or 5 Cas and a decent representation from other less fashionable clubs. Will be interesting to see if the usual faces appear tho despite extremely average seasons.....

He is, and after that house tackle yesterday I never want to see him in a Cas shirt again

McMeeken deserves a mention for top second rowers too.

Absolutely cracking player is McMeeken. Would be a tough job to put together a combined Salford/Cas team on current form. Some of the combinations on both teams are a joy to behold. Just seen the Cas tries on the SL Show and Cas fans are getting great VFM for their season tickets!

Crooks will get a ban. But not sure what Maria did to "snap Milner's leg"? Thought it was unfortunate accident, Maria didn't was the stationary one. Can't justify the booing though.

Agree, it won't last, once powell takes over GB that could be it. I'll enjoy this year for what it's worth though.

As for Crooks, I don't mind him, he's just not as good as Shenton or Webster. He did alright whilst shenny was injured last year. I've heard he's enjoying his time at Leigh, so you'll probably have a better idea then me where he will end up?

Sorry about my post, or 'some of them'. We get stuffed 38-0 at home, and then our owner decides to 'slag off' referees/officials. Although it wasn't because of the Castleford game, it was a general summary of decisions he wasn't happy with so far this season....(he has kept quiet until now). As for Ben Crooks, it we stay in SL hope we can keep him, (definitely our best signing pre-season)
The rest have been poor signings, and if/when we get relegated, then Ben Crooks will not be with us.....

Apologies for my response too. Just for the record I don't think we are the best sides in RL of all time. But the best Cas side in my lifetime!

Playing hull away and Cas at home, I'm guessing you wouldn't have fancied many points beforehand.,it's crucial you broke the away duck though. Leigh haven't been bad at all this season, just maybe started better then expected then a tough run has maybe distorted the overall picture.
