I believe the rfl have tweaked the appeals process slightly this year. Appeals can actually backfire and see the suspensions increased so clubs might think twice.

Yes some Saints fans have said that but some other Saints fans , including me , agree with the red card and with the classification.
Apparently the tariff is 4 to 8 matches I think it's his first sending off so I expect him to get 4 or 5 games

It was a St Helens player sent off therefore naturally there will be some fans with red v glasses who believe it was not as bad as it was. The same would apply to every other club who has a player sent off. The majority see it for what it was.

FWIW I thought it was a straight red and have no issue with a 4 match ban...taking his previous disciplinary record into account I think 4 games rather than 8 is the right decision (and not often you can say the RFL disciplinary panel get it right).

My only (potential) issue is will every player committing a similar tackle receive a 4 - 8 match ban throughout the season? Or is this another example of starting harsh on suspensions and will go softer/more lenient as the season progresses
