It sometimes embarrasses me when I hear dummy-half, we've got to come up with a better name than that. And also insist that all commentators use acting-halfback instead of dummy-half.

Also :-

1) Get rid of the scrum (have a tip-off instead, this will promote more passing)
2) Get rid of the drop-goal
3) Get rid of the goal-line drop-out (have a 20m tap instead)
4) Get rid of the conversion (have a passing play instead, from 10m line, 1 point if ball is touched down), still 4 points for a try and 2 for a penalty.

Wouldn't get rid of drop goals on the whole but shouldn't have them in golden point extra time. I know it was exciting in the NRL GF but I think in extra time it should take a try to win it, not just the first team who can get themselves 25m out from goal.

That's the only bit I'd agree with.

Acting half-back is the name for the attacking team player behind the play-the-ball. It's the defending team's first marker that is the 'dummy half'.

Wouldn't it make more sense to have a running play option for a conversion for 3 points, ala the 2 point conversion in American Football. As opposed to getting rid of the kick altogether and making the subsequent play only worth 1?

2 for a regular kick, 3 if you decide to run a play from the 10 instead.

Getting rid of conversions is the only bit that makes sense. It is almost as if we are saying that a try scored under the posts is worth more than one out wide. If that is the case we sould just paint a box behind the posts and say that it is worth six points to touch down there.
