| Dave Hadfield saying he THINKS Hudson played for Bradford? I thought he was supposed to be a top journo, surely it wouldn't have been hard to quickly check if he wasn't sure?
Incidentally in the "Where are they now" series, Nathan Graham works up at the B.R.I. now.

Makes sense to see him working around potentially contagious diseases - there's no chance of him catching anything...

I think he coaches one of the junior teams with Lynton Stott.

your obviously referring to his one bad day at the office i take it?
nathan was a far better player than how history will show him to be,the more knowledgable bulls posters will obviously know that though
nathan was a very talented junior player at dewsbury, maurice bamford actually sent him out to north sydney to gain experience, maurice rated graham very highly, even after his notorious dropped balls at wembley
shame though that that is how he is to be remembered as a bulls player by junior fans!

You were sounding quite knowledgable yourself until you said Maurice Bamford
Nathan himself never really recovered from it either though, that and we signed Stuart Spruce

I'm not a junior fan...(not been for a while ) and I know Nathan was a better player than just that game indicates, but I'm afraid thats pretty much what I remember him for...which I agree is a shame, but there it is.
Sometimes a players whole career is defined by one game, Robbie Paul had the reverse effect to nathan from the same game!

I would say he would sound even more knowledgable without the idea that he thinks Jamie Jones-Buchanan is a legend. That kind of makes him not look like he knows what he's on about. (Assuming it's a "he", if not, replace all instances with "she"icon_wink.gif.

I've posted quite a few times on the very same topic. Nathan was badly let down by his team mates and I'm not sure he actually [idropped[/i anything on that day; he let the first one go since it was obviously going dead (well, it would 999 times out of a thousand) and they scored from it, but he got no protection whatsoever from his forwards on the later kicks and was totally swamped by on-rushing Saints players who just barged him out of the way.
Another player judged even more harshly was Don Fox. He was a cracking player, a GB international, but he'll forever be the "poor lad" who missed a sitter from under the posts.

To this day i blame Paul Laughlin (scuse spelling) the one person in the team who could have really given graham a hand was hiding out on the touch line while his former team mates where running riot! Once a scouser all ways a scouser i suppose!

glad to see that someone else watched the same game that i did
although i did have the cheek to ask robbie paul what he thought of that particular cc final and in regards to nathan graham, and he echoed our sentiments totally

your statement perfectly illustrates why i have the upmost respect for robbie paul.
when i initially nobbled robbie about leroy rivett surpassing his wembley hat trick,he imediately turned the conversation to the fact that he was made out to be the hero from that game but that nathan graham was castigated and blamed for the bulls losing that game.
however robbie was firmly in support of graham,he said that certain players should have helped him out that day but didn't and he was left isolated!
if you doubt my word, why not ask robbie yourselves and see if it's true

No need to doubt anything, I've heard other bradford players say the same, its not just robbie that has said it, and its not just you thats heard it Even I said walking out the ground on the day that Graham was left helpless by his teammates, and I think its pretty much common knowledge that Graham not getting to the 2nd and 3rd bombs was not his fault alone.
...However, like I say, no matter how good a player he was, no matter what failings his team mates had in the incidents, and no matter how well he played in the rest of the game, it is the "dropped" (not the right word I know) bombs that I and others will always remember his Bradford career for, which is unfortunate and I agree with you.

Not if you don't want to Shaggoth. You can believe what you want, free country and all that. History, so they say, is written by the winners anyway, so maybe we should ask for a St Helens opinion and just accept that? Personally, I find that shortly after the heat of battle is far from the best time to reflect on what went on in any match, and the bigger the game the more true I find it.
It's strange that you use 'revisionist' in a pejorative sense, surely if we never reflect on what we saw (or occasionally what we thought we saw) and review our thoughts and opinions accordingly we're just accepting our 'instant' views as the sole truth. Again, speaking personally, I can rarely be objective when the game is on; I want to win too much and get far too involved (I probably said ffs Graham, why can't you catch the *^%*ing thing, at the cup final) but it is only when looking dispassionately, at a later time, that the truth slaps you in the face.
Can I suggest you have another, maybe more objective, look at the match? I know it isn't very good viewing for a Bull's fan but it just might lay a ghost!!

| I wonder if he gets the same sort of unfair blame at the hospital too. Not sure what his job is though. Maybe he's the cleaner and gets blamed if a patient's heart operation goes wrong or something.
Will have to ask my source what his job is. If it's heart surgeon, then fair enough

I did wonder if Gleds might have known, but there again, big trust, hundreds of employees, different shifts, different sites, I guess there's no real reason he would.
