From what i've seen of the two players it'll be a fantastic match up. I believe McDermott was a handy boxer and Sculthorpe is known to have done padwork with Ricky Hatton. Should be a great fight!

from what I've seen of these "fights" previously, is that it's basically who can swing their arms most for three rounds. Not much boxing actually takes place.

Possibly becasue there hasnt been a boxer to a decent level fighting before? Im not sure, there might have been. Just a thought though. |

Much as I admired Scullys work with Ryan Bailey, there is no substitute for proper boxing training and doing a bit of padwork with Ricky Hatton is not that - that's a PR stunt
Last thing to go with age in boxing is power, I'd expect a knock out with this one |

Quite agreee. A boxer will virtually always beat a banger; range and timing count far more than just swinging leather. |

Can`t even remember one Leeds player getting knocked out in that match.

Have another look at that video (1997 CC semi). Amusing if only because all the current Leeds coaching set-up are involved (Brian Mac & Lowes vs Barrie Mac and Gibson). Newton & Morley also involved. |
