Turned the game this decision because it let us build pressure and we were over within a few more sets IIRC.

The "in-touch" decision was right in front of me and there was a clear green gap between Thomas and the line. Thankfully that was one decision that went our way!

Heard a couple of morons make comments towards Thomas, (who had a reasonable game) which were unfortunately not helped by another moron laughed which only encouraged further "jokes".

It looked to me like he was ever so slightly in touch, but I wasn't particularly near it so you could be right.

I thought he had kept in field but the touch judge was pretty close, did his hand touch the line or something?

Didn't hear any abuse towards Thomas, but I hear plenty worse abuse towards our own players from our own fans though at times!

Gareth Thomas had on okay game but i thought he were in touch but those fans who had a go at him are pathetic.

Don't see the fuss about Thomas. Thought he was pretty poor TBH. It must be hard though for him considering all the expectation and he's had no real time to get up to speed. Looks to slow to me to be an outside back in *the wriggling code* as Stuart Jones puts it.

I stand pretty much where Thomas was lifted in touch and his hand touched the line, the point of contention for me wasn't whether he was in touch it's that he was lifted and pulled over, I may be wrong but isn't that now not allowed?

I thought I saw a hand get pretty close to the line, I think that must be what the touchie flagged for! God knows what the ruling is now, I'm not even sure the referee's know for sure. Seems you can lift a little and drive if it's one on one as long as you don't drag!

Thomas dropped on the ball and waited for the tackle. As I understand the rules if you put downward pressure on him in any way then he's tackled, but if it's your first motion then you can lift him up and then tackle him as normal. So nothing wrong with it in this situation.

He didn't look in touch to me but I was a good 60 yards away! Having said that the decision evened things up as we got some very tough decisions leading up to it.

AS I understand it, dragging is what is not allowed. From the other side of the park, it looked like Halley just went over to him, lifted him up like you would a large bag of spuds and carried him to the line! He had dropped on the ball but was not tackled, so was fine for mine!

And after some of those harsh decisions leading up to it, it was about time he gave us something.

You can still drag into touch if only one person involved, if one is dragging and another defender joins in its held, if they carry on its penalty to attacker.

If both feet are off ground its held, if player is lifted and carried and dumped its ok as long as trailing leg is still moving along floor.

Well he publicly criticised the reception he got at Cas t'other week, wonder if he'll go crying to his newspaper after today? Or toughen up and deal with it. I'm not condoning what people say but it's bound to happen. I don't think then whining about it will help his cause either.

I think the linesman thought he'd end up in touch and put his flag up before he was sure and then couldn't reverse the decision. You win some you lose some on calls like that and fortunately it went our way.

The quips about Thomas' sexuality from the terraces were just plain childish. One lad stood near me was at it throughout the game, got a bit tiresome.
