This would appear to debar entry to any fan who has been to the pub and has a bellyful of beer (or even one mil.!)

No taking of photos or videoing without written permission! So someone taking casual piccies could find their camera being confiscated till after the match! There are few regular snappers in every Club who do provide some interesting shots which would not affect the Clubs in any way and it would be a shame if this measure was applied in a Draconian way across SL!

It's actually a fairly common rule at grounds. Saints is the only one which actually makes a big issue out of it.(memo to self: must write to Saints and get written permission to take some photos at our next, and last, game at Knowsley Rd.)

Seems to be an accurate summation of the rule as written. I`ll get back to you after I've got the latest revised opinion from the attorney general

TBH i thought this was a common rule in most stadiums, but 99% of places don't enforce it. Usually down to other things being a priority.

This might change though, don't forget we're all terrorists now

Whilst acknowledging that most clubs have similar rules, I think the following are a bit harsh

5 All children entering the Ground or Stand, must pay for admission or hold a valid ticket. (tickets for 6mth olds - harsh!)

12 No person will be allowed to take into the Stadium any article that is intended to be used for standing on to obtain a better view, e.g. crate, stool or collapsible stand. (Especially if you've paid child entry and the little tyke ain't big enough to see over the barrier - obviously not a 6mth old

)

20 No dogs, with the exception of guide dogs, are allowed into the stadium. (THAT could be difficult to enforce and and [ivery [/isubjective

15 Under no circumstances is it permitted to throw any object onto the pitch.

Apparently now you can also "text a steward" inside the HJ while the match is on. If someone nearby is annoying you,then you just text a brief description of the offender and your location in the ground to a given number and the stewards come running!

I actually like that idea. I've suggested similar things for cinemas before (although admittedly the light from your phone in a cinema may be a clue as to who reported them).

Nah, I think it's compulsory to use your phone in the cinema. Since they stopped people smoking, phones light up as often as matches used to.

To be honest I think that these kid's ability to text with their one free hand whilst watching the film and with their other arm round the girl/boy friend is utterly amazing.

I`m trying to remember what I used to do with my free hand when I was that age.........nah, it's gone I'll remember later.....

I think this text a steward idea could be open to abuse though. Let's say you object to someone swearing(which we all know does happen at rugby games). Fair enough someone constantly using the "F" word for example needs reporting. But does someone who uses the same word once in the entire game because his team has conceeded a try/penalty,or dropped the ball or had a player sin binned or sent off really deserve the same fate?

Whether it worked or not would depend on having stewards with common sense. So it probably wouldn't work for most grounds.

I got the idea that, when texted, the stewards went to the area concerned and then came to their own conclusion as to what, if any, action to take. Course, if the guy who texted is still making a fuss remonstrating with someone, HE might finish up being the one thrown out!
