I've just finished Uni for the summer, and Morrisons (where I work part-time) haven't been able to guarantee me more hours over the summer.

I want to work, not just fester my summer away, does anyone know of temporary job positions over the summer?

You need to sell yourself. What are you doing at Uni, whats your best attributes, etc. Give us an idea if any of us posters can fit you in for a few weeks.

If you are about 5'8", butt ugly, can't move around very quickly but have one trick in your box, you could always try for a scrum half spot at the Bulls. The position will definitely end on 11 September with no possibility of it being extended, but that should just about fit in with Uni year.

AFAIK, you've no hope of any paid journalism work without doing a hefty chunk of unpaid work experience beforehand. So if you can stick the hit to your wallet, that might be a possible use for your summer.

Pretty much spot on. Aaron, apply at a local rag or something (something similar to the Brighouse echo or something) for free work - it'll look great on your CV (if you are doing journalism at uni, for when you leave).

Yep, I appreciate that guys, but we have a six week period in our second year where we can go on placements, and I already have two fortnightly placements lined up, one with a local newspaper, and another with the League Express, so that aspect doesn't worry me too much.

Money worries me!

Have you tried the job shop at your Uni? They take quite a few on over summer.
