But in any event I'd want him to go to the NRL, since going to another SL club would send out precisely the wrong messages. And likely do us far more damage than any benefit from a big transfer fee; IMO.

I'd love to see him in the NRL in his career, but I'd love to see him finish out his contract aswell. If he does leave though, I couldn't care less where to, because it doesn't matter because he no longer plays for and offers us any benefit and I'd want to see the best deal Bulls could strike, should he leave.

The damage that will occur, will be because of him no longer being a Bull, and not because he is anything else, wether that be a club in the NRL or Super League, but at least if it were a SL club before hand, a fee that matches his value would at least soften the blow.

Keeping him till his contract up would be the best way anyway, we would get a quality player for 2 more seasons, which would be far more beneficial to us than any small transfer/average player trade likley to occur should a deal be struck with the dirty Aussies.

I'm with you on this - if he has a clause to allow him to go at the end of next season, fine. If he wants to go earlier he needs to find someone who is willing to pay.

Disagree. Him leaving for the NRL would be viewed by most primarily as him seeking to have a shot at the best competition in the game. In the mould of Ellis and Mozza. Him leaving for another SL club would be seen by most as a reflection on Bradford. IMO.

I bet it looked great on the menu, but was a complete waste of money, apart from the cheesy bit right at the end that made you think "maybe it wasn't so bad after all - I'll give it one more try"?

hmmm couple of interesting bits in that, first have we dropped price to 200k or would that be 200k plus a player which would tie in with reported 500k pricetage hood put on sam.

If Kearney and Walker are confirmed then that still leaves us needing cover at halfback. So either we're signing nobody or they will be ENglish from the SL, it will be interesting to see who we get. Thorman looks the most likely unless we're paying a fee..

Jeffries back to Wakefield is interesting. Not that I think you will be getting Brough.

I imagine the idea is to have Kearney as a utility covering for halfback as well, that will keep an element of competition at HB/FB and allow Macca to look at how things work out in pre-season before deciding who goes where.

I would very much doubt whether we'll see another HB but I hope I'm wrong.

I think it's a shame we're not offering Semi a one year deal, if indeed that's true. Tend to think Walker's past his best and has a lousy reputation in terms of discipline and club loyalty, don't know what he's like off field, but might there be potential visa problems here?

thought it was interesting that when Halley went off it was sykes that dropped to FB and not Platt , not sure what that says about where macca is planning on playing people in the long term ,

maybe it was to casue less distruption to the team by only moving one player
