| Regarding points deduction changes I seem to remember this was something that was agreed with RL and HMRC at the time. HMRC needed assurances that the RFL were doing something to deter rugby clubs going into admin and the HMRC losing out.
It appear that people think it's acceptable as a business not to pay taxes and the HMRC want organisations to pay their dues, not use tax money to pay other business costs.
I keep reading people saying we can't do that because, we can't do this because......etc. But say there isn't a person willing to take on the rent, players full times wages and also pay off the debt what is the alternative.

| Did I also read Green has already received the RFL funding to survive. I take it that either you honour the season tickets or Green has just used that money too and the fans will have to buy one again. As I see it very little money to run the club will be coming in so much as you want to pay the debt, pay the running costs plus wages it will need someone who loves the club and is prepared to lose £3m this years and probably £1m per year after that with no real chance of the big super league money and if that were to happen break even is SL would be only realistic thing.
So young propects and a 3 year plan outside SL gradually building is best. I expect a number of wannabe owners coming forward and wanting the club with no means to finance this.

No, you read someone giving their opinion on the matter as fact. There's nothing been released to actually confirm or deny that Green has had the Bulls cut of central funding from the RFL

The cost of the lease and the sheer size and age of the place mean it would need far bigger crowds, or other income sources, to finance the costs, imo. The current situation does nothing to make me think that projected income over the coming months will be any larger.

| Indeed. And that is why we're screwed. *All* parties are at the end of a very long history over exactly this point. Political will was burnt by commitments made in the mid 80s about the funding of the place. The whole move to VP (and back) was about shedding the council of a little over ten years ago from financial burdens imposed by the council of twenty years before that. That was the one opportunity for a new stadium, never to be repeated. Tesco were paying for it in its entirety. We moved back with nothing to show for it beyond cleaner toilets. The government had stepped in because it was far enough away from the town centre to qualify as an out-of-town shopping development, and they were putting a stop to those at that time. [url=http://www.bbc.co.uk/bradford/content/articles/2009/08/27/bradford_westfield_hole_feature.shtmlAnd a good job they did, otherwise we might have ended up with a city centre that was little more than a hole in the ground from that time up until basically last Christmas[/url.
The world has moved on. Supermarkets in the latter half of 2016 aren't dropping that kind of money to establish a presence. They're having price wars with suppliers to keep the tills turning over when there's a much reduced currency.
There's no will in an enormously underfunded council to look after the Sunday afternoons of a couple of thousand people. In the city alone there are close to 270,000 other people, and there's another 100k plus in the rest of the district falling under their remit.
The only way anything even remotely like it will happen imo is with the right owner with the right contacts, and that includes with the soccer club, to secure the necessary private investment. And they will have to see the profit in it. Lawn would be the closest bet.
All of that might be possible if Valley Parade wasn't a shrine. But unfortunately, for very large numbers of people, it really is.
We will either share Horsfall Stadium with Park Avenue, or we will "share" Valley Parade with City. I don't see any other options.

| Has the Bulls brand become tainted now?
Would a new owner or club be better off dropping the Bulls for a fresh start?
My personal preference would be Bradford RL with a traditional badge modelled on the city's tongue less wild boar and a white shirt with RAB hoop.
As far as the ground goes. Imo whoever buys it needs to make sure the club don't take on the sub lease with RFL.
We don't know if valley parade is a viable option though either. For a long time it crippled Bradford City. I can understand them not wanting to leave it's entirely right but if there is a Bradford RL team after this the new owner has to be able to do what needs to be done.
Anyone else bought flights to Toulouse like me? I'm going jet2 from Manchester with the whole family. If we aren't playing I won't be going to the game though.

| Without covering decades of old arguments: The only people with money in Bradford are Morrisons. The people who objected to us developing Odsal was Morrisons. The only place we can legally play as an onging entity is Odsal. Odsal is not viable without a 4K crowd.
This should explain our problem.

| My preference would be to keep the Bulls brand. I don't think it's tainted at all. People that have said as much have had their judgement coloured by dealings e.g Cummins.
The brand is the least of it. A period of years where we're able to to pay bills on time will see us right.

Erm only prob is Morrisons are trying to turn it round themselves,I'm afraid they see themselves more than a bradford brand these days also

| Quote ="Slugger McBatt"Let's say Green enters into administration to stop the HMRC winding up the Bulls due to a £240,000 debt to them. Let's say that that the club (i.e., the company registered with the RFL) owes Green personally £760,000 by way of a directors loans and shares, etc. The Bulls can't avoid the full sanction of 12 points by Green cashing in the club's assets to get his personal investment back of £760,000.'"
When did he personally invest £760,000 though? And why would he get it back? It doesn't work like that.

Well, I've often said, Ken Morrison can do as he wishes with his money, it is, after all his. That said, why he didn't want, for what would have been 'small change' to him, to finance a memorial or permanent advert for himself or the company he then ran, then I confess I honestly don't see his logic.
Neither do I really buy the idea that a national, or international, company can't do something for local sport in its heartland - there are many examples, from Halifax PLC in errm Halifax, Northern Rock in Newcastle and Walkers in Leicester to name just three of many who do so in this country. If you want a fourth then how about Provident in Bradford..

| I've supported Bradford since the Northern days, we were a good club then, not fantastic, not the best, but a good club, that i enjoyed watching at a rain soaked speedway track called odsal. I introduced both my very young sons to the game and they became bulls fans, and for years we attended games together as the Bulls led the way in the early days of the super league razzamataz, largest crowds, and some silverware.
All of us regular season ticket holders for years, spent £000's on merchandise; bought a program every game, bought all videos of home games, new home and away shirts every season, gifts from the bulls shop every birthday and christmas.
We even went to Odsal during the week to watch the players train, it was like a home to us, happy times, we were on high, and we supported bulls through and through; even introduced my footie mad brother to bulls mania. When times started getting tough we readily dipped our hands in our pockets.
Many many years later, both sons grown up and moved on, they're no longer bothered with watching a game at rain soaked odsal; sky subscription cancelled years ago, stopped getting season ticket, all old bulls shirts went to charity last month, programmes went to tip, videos gathering dust. Crooked or just bad owners have come and gone.
So now I stand a lonely old man, soaked through to the skin at a dreary odsal bowl, Bradford bulls were my life and it is ebbing away fast.
Like the Bulls, I feel me life has had highs and lows, I enjoyed the highs and struggled through the lows, but like many on here, I now feel exhausted, down-trodden, worn-out with the recent wave after wave of lows after lows (after Lowes).
I will never support another Rugby League team; I will always support Bradford, but I cant continue to carry their burden on my shoulders, its too depressing.
If we come out the other side - i'll be there; if we dont, it will be sad, very sad, the coffin lid is closing, the light is fading.
By the time the Bulls (by whatever name) get back to the glory days I'm afraid my bones will be ashes.
Thank you bulls players and fans, you gave me many memorable moments.

How does that work though?
Forgive me if I'm wrong but I would have thought the company owning Bradford Bulls has signed a sub lease with RFL. That company is currently in administration. Whoever buys the club from the administrators has a choice of which suppliers they want to continue with including the lease of the ground.
If they had a deal in place to play at a ground that met the criteria for whatever league they are in RFL are bound to accept it. If they insist they play at odsal how is that legal?
I'd tell them to shove it. They decided to buy the lease it's their problem what happens with it.
It can't be used as grounds to not accept a bid for reinstatement into the league as that should be seen as a totally separate decision.

I'm on about the real RFL, the ones that are a law unto themselves, the ones that would be pilloried for buying a lease for a ground where the team play somewhere else.

It was a reply to a query as to how the RFL rules appear to work in relation to the reduction of the points sanction, using hypothetical figures. It was never a comment on the Bulls or Green. I just used him as an example.

| RL should take on the club like the gov has taken on bad banks like Lloyds - get a company doctor in to nurse the club back to health and prepare for a sale. No points deductions. Instigate an auditing system to check clubs are paying their Vat and income tax.

| remember the last time the RFL "helped" the Bulls out, it cost them the lease to the ground and then the majority of the other 13 SL Chairmen/Owners didn't like what the RFL had done so they held the RFL to ransom and voted to steal half the Bulls Sky money as a penalty.......Plus the last "company Doctor" the RFL used was a certain Steve Ferres who was supposed to see that the club was put on an even keel....look how that turned out
