| Taking nothing away from a decently drilled Wigan but this is symbolic of years of under performance by our once great club
KC - out if depth . Roby in bench? My ass
Rush - what value does he add?
Cheap coach and and CEO based on years of cheap recruitment means mid table this year and potential middle 8s or worse to come.
Eamon - please make changes and save our future
Off for a lie down....

| I'd go even higher with the clear out. McManus always promised he'd depart when the stadium was built. He did an Arsenal and traded successful and fun for solidity and got the ground done. Now on your bike sunshine, take Rush, KC and Wello with you and let us have our club back. We were always the mavericks, not the public sector tax accountants we'e become. McManus doesn't care one dot about winning trophies, he's got all he needs in the next decade and won't try for more. You won't see players being signed left, right and centre like Warrington have done for 10 years in pursuit of trophies and you won't see us winning a trophy in the next 5 years at least.

Bit harsh on Mcmanaus. It's a bit like chelsea ditching abramovich because the shakes of man city have more cash and jack walker of Blackburn gets
put to one side because he doesn't have the cash.
He's brought (Mcmanaus) some of the best times a club and fans could ever wish for. What ever happens, you guys should never forget what
he's done for you. Same with Simon Moran for us. We still haven't won a GF yet but by heck we really appreciate what he's done for us. Even if we win
bognor Regis, I will always appreciate and respect what he's done for our club.

| It's a bad run of games. Nothing more.
Besides, it's not like the very same weren't, at some points, a feature of even the most celebrated RL coaches' records.
Irrespective of whether I like the results or the way we are currently playing - I'm certainly not going to desert someone who has EARNED the right to have a statue erected in his honour directly over the ground's entrance.
The idea that you can somehow separate Cunningham the coach and Cunningham the player is precisely the kind of sophistry which makes lawyers universally loathed.
Sure, no coach has the right to keep the job forever. But it's going to take a hell of a lot more than this to make me think about throwing the towel in on a player whose achievements will echo through history long after we've been and gone.

Of course you can separate the two.
I don't think the contract extension has helped. If people thought that he had to the end of the season they may have been more generous. But since the contract was signed it seemed to turn fans into being more urgent calling for him to go.
It's a shame really as without the contract extension it would have been an experiment that did not work. With a contract extension there would have to be a sacking or a mutual parting.
With so many old heads around the place would changing just the coach make enough of a difference?

Run of bad games? We've not played well all year. In fact we are the most boring team in super league and when we play decent teams we will struggle big time.
We beat a depleted hudds team. We beat a cas team which lost 3 players in the first 20 mins. We beat a awful Wakey team ams still played awful rugby. We struggled against injury ravaged hull KR side and if Kelly stayed on we would have lost. We was embarrassed by a roosters side thst i don't think have won a game this year.

Don't think so, bad coaching, no structure and too many "projects" in pivotal positions. For some reason we are one of the dumbest teams in super league with a defence that only lasts 20 mins per game.

Whooa steady up...a bit strong suggesting passionate fans are spitting the dummy out and being prococious because Cunninghams not up to it(re:your sophistry remark). On the contrary,I think pure pragmatisim, they are commenting to whats being served and who is directing this dogs dunner.Your appealling to sentimental and nostalgic times of invincibility e.g 2006 and what that statue represents. We arent knocking it down ,but its 2016 and times stink at Saints you cant possibly disagree?.Yesterday that was THEE worst stint of clulessness ive seen Saints with 2 sets 10-5 metres out ,they werent expecting the ball, not looking, dropping ball, pass the parcel with absolutely no direction.
That mug has got to fit fairly and squarely on Cunninghams shoulders and you have to divorce the magnificent player from the poor coach statue or not.queen victorias got a statue in town centre but she was a miserable old git.

No one said they were broke! but it is the money that has been spent, and the leadership from The Top, who really runs the club, doubt that Rush does what most club CEO's do, there has been some real bad buying of players, some of the best young player take two Gaskell & Foster left the club. I know, we had a bit of pressure on Wigan first 15 mins, with Roby and Walmsley on we could exploited it a bit more and come away with some points. Wigan just held firm in the middle as there wasn't much of a threat then sent the ball out wide away from Roby and Walmsley when they came on. Wigan were clever in both defence and attack, Saints were just doing dumb predictable plays mostly from Walsh.

This.
He's incredibly predictable and very slow. He goes nowhere near taking their line on, he runs sideways instead before throwing a pass to a forward who's stood still about 5 yards from the opposition so they have no chance of breaking the line and just get smashed instead. He offers absolutely nothing. His bottle has totally gone.
This plodding, boring, pedestrian pace is down to him. He takes all the sting out of any potential attack we can muster.

| I can't stop you guys from wanting to axe YET ANOTHER Saints coach (remember the calls to sack Brown before he triumphed at Old Trafford?). All I'm saying is that if any person deserves to be given every last opportunity to bring success to the club it's Cunningham.
I wouldn't mind so much if we were languishing near the foot of the competition with a vastly inferior squad. But you'd have to be a fool to believe there's anyone in SL we can't beat all things being equal.
As for "appealing to sentiment" ... well, d'uh! A sport without sentiment would be a pretty poor show.
I'm always amazed by the customer-is-always-right brigade continuously moaning about "boring" football. I mean, no one is FORCING them to pay their entrance fees. Or is it that they too are feeling just a bit sentimental ... ?

Well I feel FORCED to sell or send my season ticket back , I,ve supported Saints for a very long time through good and bad coaches, good and bad players but one thing we have never been is BORING. Since KC took over I backed him up last season allowing him some slack to learn the coaching role, this season is going from bad to worse in how we play, ALL the players are performing worse than last season, the attitude or response of the players to pressure is shocking.
.
Our coaching team is so defunct of ideas and have lowered standards so much that KC is struggling with realism in his post match quotes, a 20 min performance in a 80 min game is just not acceptable.
.
The true reality is that we certainly have become the most BORING team in super league and fans will turn away (sooner than later) if it continues.

I always go Widnes away, but giving it a miss, think its the first time for about 25 years.
I,m thinking of watching the u/19's games more, maybe you can answer the question I,ve just raised in the u/19's topic.

If there is another miserable performance tomorrow: what is the outcome? Especially against a Widnes with no Kevin Brown

Those are the players id love us get shut of. I like Makinson but his all round game just isent strong enough id swap him and my left ball sack for the likes of Justin Carney, solomona, manfredi etc... someone who constantly gets your team on the front foot.

| Makinson really needs to improve his kick returns, he offers nothing off his own line & consequently the next ptb is painfully slow. Solomona looks a real athlete, but there's quite a few quality wingers around. Makinson isnt justifying the deal he signed to keep him out of Wigan's clutches last renewal.
You can add Tasi, Peyroux, Richards & Owens to that list. This years recruitment is nothing short of negligence, horrific signings.

Sorry, but you're completely wrong about Makinson. He's top4 wingers in SL imo, and his ability to challenge for kicks is the only reason why we have enough sets on opponents line to score at the moment.
His taking in early carries in a set is his weakness no doubt - but why do we keep insisting on using the tactic of using wingers to take the first few tackles? Its not like any one of the back 3 are particularly strong at it. Its up to the coach to recognise this and change the tactics accordingly. I'll put it another way, Owens is probably the best we have for those early carries - should we continue with him even when Swift is back?
