Despite the usual suspects (Roby and Walmsley) giving outstanding stats I thought Flanagan and Jones put in a really good performance last night in the absence of Vea and Greenwood. Josh Jones was a handful for the pies and put in a good all round performance.
For the pies, its noted that Flower didn,t do much in offence after the opening 10 mins, was he scared of taking the ball up only did 4 carries for 15 metres, maybe he was looking for a Lance type figure but could,t find one.

Something stats don't show is how well percy took 3/4 of them kicks. He took some very important catches and just took control of the situation. He put his body on the line taking them.
We don't partically take kicks like that to good against wigan but they was top class takes by a top class kid.

| Stats don't do justice to just how dominant we were IMO. Five tries to three in which one was a full lengther following a Saints error when we could have scored. For an hour we were hugely on top. As I posted yesterday, if your edges defend well, Wigan can't impact the game. Totally one dimensional.
Five definite first teamers missing as well - it's like 2005/6 all over again  |

Shows just how dominant you were. Walmsley's stats are great as are Roby's
As for Flower, his key for me is in his defence. He really works hard in defence. I think the game plan with him was to just to get it out his system but keep him low key. He played less minutes than he normally does and generally kept quiet ball in hand.

Walmsley knocked Tautai on his . Then Richards knocked Powell on his . Then we swung it left to isolate that turnstile Smith. Another Walmsley carry dominating the collision with Crosby before we then inexplicably cock up the coup de grâce where with decent execution we'd have strolled in the right hand corner. Game should have been over as a contest before HT. Only our own mistakes kept them in it.

It was at that point we were becoming dominant as the pies where having to make lots of tackles and we started to "camp out" in there half. I wash,t particularly worried at half time as the Wigan Pack looked as though they had lost the battle. Loughlin is a spent force these days and Matty Smith was not having a good impact on the game.
Our 95% completion in the second half put lots of pressure on the pies and they resorted to grubby play. |

It's interesting that the metres made is almost identical, we've made 20 more carries than them (they did have a couple of near length of field breaks though), yet they've made almost 100 more tackles than us?

From todays League Express. Saints completion rate over the game was 85% Wigans was 74%. I reckon Saints were at over 90% in the 2nd half whilst Wigans was around 60%
Sainrs completed 34 sets to Wigans 25. Saints had 127 ptb's to Wigans 95 that's 33% more.
To gift any team 18 points is suicide.
If we give Salford that much possession on Friday we will struggle

Propaganda at its very best Rogues. Ignore the facts just presented which show clear dominance & refer to suicidal rugby. The issue being, Wigan tired due to the onslaught from our pack & the mistakes came from the back of that dominance.

The silly errors were just a result of the massive pressure they were under. They didn't gift us anything, make those mistake at the right end of the field and its just a turn over. Make them on your line, when you're men are too goosed to get back and help and its T-R-Y time.
We put them in that position and reaped the rewards.

They can dress it up in whichever shiny way they like if it helps them stay in their denial.
Any Wiganer with a scooby (not many, admittedly) watching Friday are right now in fear of facing St Helens when it matters. They'll be a distant second favourite for a long while and it'll remain that way whilst their coach thinks you can play RL without props. Our forwards will be licking their lips at the prospect of facing them. They don't have a single front rower that would make our 17.

I've never uploaded a physical file, and I'd be surprised if the option to upload spreadsheets as a physical file. You can hard code in tables in posts using [code [/code and [size [/size (close the brackets obviously)

just count the character spaces - there isnt a lot of inherited php in the post options here so hard coding like so at least allows you to introduce spacing etc |

I won't say Flower was scared.
He and the rest of the Wigan pack are not big meter makers, most are on the field to tackle. They tend to get there backs to make the meters via wide plays and scoots. Meters were lower than usual in this game given the quality of the two defenses. |

I think he did quite a good tackling stint but 4 carries in the match is way below Mose Standard. Not sure how many minutes he played only noticed him in the first 5 minutes after that he seem to go missing, maybe he went off because he could,t find Lance. |
