In League Express today Dave Parker states that RB has retired due to a chronic pubic bone problem which has left him unable to train, despite being able to play. The bloke will start as a gym instructor in St Helens.

Always good when a player goes out on top. Retiring after your team wins the Grand Final is always the perfect ending.

Serious questions need to be asked now about the recruitment process and medical staff who sanctioned this signing. He probably wasn't on much but we've probably thrown away getting on for £100,000 in total when you include everything.

It's terrible for anyone to have to give up there career because of injury, but we as Saints fans never got to see him never mind see him play so it's hard to be emotional?

I saw Ant Walker and Shannon McDonnell suited and booted before the game which was nice to see and saw Lomax, Laffranchi, Dawson and Wilkin. Didn't see Wheeler or Beaumont at all though.

I saw both Wheeler and Walsh.

Wheeler and Walsh were in tracksuits with Walker (on crutches) on the pitch after the game.

I imagine our insurance will cover Beaumont's costs, won't they?

Bring back Apollo , all the injuries are really poor conditioning etc

Sounds fishy to me. He was either crocked or not crocked.

It was only Dave Parker who said he'd retired. When Saints announced it they just said he'd been released to pursue his career elsewhere (or words to that effect).

Who cares anyway. We took the risk and it didn't pay off.

Actually it's not really. There are clear undertones about his mental state here and I know from personal experience that once you've missed a fair few days of work with illness that it's actually very difficult to get up and go back. You get this listless feeling and before you know it you've missed the start of the day and end up just sitting there.
