Did anyone else think wello was bitten. I think by McIllorum. He went to the ref and kept pointing to his arm.

Seen that in the game. The is history between the two but couldn't tell exactly what wello was saying or doing at the game but must admit it did look like he was saying that.

I noticed he was complaining about something, didn,t Wilkin get involved as well.

At the time I thought he was trying to tell the ref MM put his elbow in Wellens' face. To be honest I haven't looked at the recording yet.

I've just looked at the recording and watched it in slo-mo. It certainly looks dubious if not conclusive. Wellens puts his forearm in his face to try and break free from the tackle and MM appears to have a little nibble. Wellens does say to the ref, 'he bit me' and points to his arm, but the ref doesn't seem to be bothered.

If noone heard it during play before half time he goes "you bit me you dirty (so and so)" to which McIlorum replied "you put it in my mouth"

Did noone else hear this?

Right after the ref has spoken to Wilkin and they show a reply of the penalty you can hear their conversation.

The actual incident hapened in 31st minute. The comment can be overheard as Wigan are taking the 2 point just on half time.

However, 31:24 Wellens has his forearm in MM's face, I can't say that there's anything conclusive in the frames around that to say that there definitely is biting. Wellens appears to swing the elbow on the floor and there's no mark that I can see (31:2icon_cool.gif. Wellens is however pushing is arm into MM's face throughout the tackle.

So that gives him the right to bite ? (If he has. I don't think he has).

It would be a very serious offence for a referee just to brush aside without more investigation at the time, or one that we wouldn’t have heard about sooner subsequently.

I think he might just ask the RFL to review if if he feels it did happen.

Wellens goes into the tackle and shoves his forearm into McIlorum's mouth.

Not a lot he can do at the time if he didn't see it, best left for the review panel to pick up

I've seen the videos knocking about YouTube, twitter etc and IMO it doesn't look great.

Fair enough Wellens has his arm up but that gives no right for McIlorum to bite - if he's adjudged to have done so. I don't think Wellens would make it up and his reaction says a lot too.

Put it one way, it wouldn't surprise me one bit. I thought he did well yesterday but I just can't ever like him. He's a grub.

Having looked at it, I must say it looks very suspicious. I don't think Wellens would have reacted like that without just cause. If the panel look at this and find him guilty he needs to be looking at a very long stretch out of the game.

Any form of biting carries an automatic E-F grade (4+ games) - if he gets called up (which will depend on wellens making an official complaint I think)

Why would any opposition player want to injure Wellens? Its to their advantage when he is on the pitch,
