| Walsh kicked at an 86% success rate last season (bearing in mind Sinfield won the Rhino "Top Gun" award with 87%) so would expect him to be taking the goal kicks...Lomax/Makinson have been far too inconsistent and we havent had an actual kicker since Eastmond went so will be nice to have somebody who can do the job consistently this year

I think Foster was a top kicker, far superior than Eastmond in that department

| Walsh kicking also takes some pressure of Lomax and Makinson who are still young enough to be effected by the pressure

He was, i still think he was a little hard done to at Saints, but once his confidence went, it seemed all over for him unfortunately

| I heard someone say that Walsh was successful with 26 consecutive kicks last season.

I had genuinely forgotten about Foster...he was very good with the boot (although Walsh had a better % success rate than he did last season)
Was a shame Foster didnt live up to the potential he showed in 2011, but dont think he is anywhere near as good as Makinson or Swift...letting him go and getting those 2 playing regular was a good move imo

I very much doubt that, I'd be shocked if that was the case. I followed the NRL last year, and specifically him after we had signed him, and I don't recall that happening. I could be wrong but I'd be surprised if I am on this occasion mate.
He'd do well to get an 86% conversion rate if he missed 26 consecutive attempts.
Edit: I'm an idiot.

| Assuming the team score enough tries, Walsh is nailed on to be the #1 goal kicker in SL next season. His goal kicking and cross field kicking is second to none.

He had some run going or kicked so many in one game. Can't think what it was now but he's a good kicker.
Just hope we don't pile the work load and pressure on Walsh like Warrington did with briers. We are expecting Walsh to be our organiser, ball player, field kicker and goal kicker which isn't ideal for a guy who doesn't like pressure.

Might want to read the post you quoted again.

As far as goal kicking goes, yes. Lomax and makinson are reasonable kickers as well.
As for halfbacks, no. It's him or we're up a famous creek with no hint of a paddle

Wouldn't it be nice to have a 6 who could also play a bit ...

I think I'd be tempted to play Wilkin there. He's the best we've got to a stand off and will take the load off Walsh.
I just got a feeling we will get good go forward this year, get teams on the back foot, quick play the ball for Roby who will feed Walsh but then Hohaia will stop the move dead as he's slow thinking. Lance takes to much time on the ball as he's not a halfback and then we've lost the front foot.

He's not the "running" half that people want to compliment Walsh, but he's much better at the core halfback skills that Hohaia, which is running moves smoothly. He also has a better kicking game.

Fully agree, this happened countless times last year. Lance just stops our momentum dead

| I can still remember the Leeds playoff game watching from behind the posts, with Lance stood almost infront of me and just hitting the breaks. Neither passing, running side ways, or hitting the line.
At that point I just gave up on hoping. Any decent defence that has not already got a hole in it and he just does not know what to do. The week before he looked different, but Hull KR's defense was not up to a top class defence like Leeds.
