I know this is a Rugby forum obvs, but what do people think about Hull Citys owner wanting to follow the likes of RL in changing the name of the club. Nice little mention about RL in the below football article. I personally think that football fans do not like change. Period. Like the goal line technology debarkle what was the issue there? I think footy need to modernise and make things a bit more family friendly.

I don't like it personally and always refer to us as Wigan. However at one of the first fans forums after Lenagan took over he asked for a show of hands on Wigan RL or Wigan Warriors. Much to my, and I suspect most peoples surprise the vote was about 50:50. |

Wigan becoming the warriors didn't take away from the team name like hull city, they want to drop the city from the name. The only team I think to do this in RL I think is Salford and they haven't really said anything.
Looking at saints as a club the other year when we changed the badge and it said 'saints' fans kicked off as we are not saints but St. Helens .... This is not just a football problem
