How come Tuson only got 1 match when he was on a charge that was for 2-3 matches? An early guilty plea would mean he would get the minimum of 2.

He wasn't given the chance of an early guilty plea. The guidelines are "recommended" tariffs with discretion to give a lower or higher penalty. I assume they took into account being punched in the back of the head while his back was turned as partial mitigation.

Awww, I was hoping for 5 so we could play somebody who may actually contribute something. I'd like to see a run for Forster to fill the vacancy. He made a good start earlier in the season and deserves another go.

Amusingly, on Hock's page, Mr Wane states that "...since joining Wigan Mr Hock’s behaviour has been impeccable both on and off the field...."

Can i add my opinion to all this, it wasn't much really was it? a few slaps here and there, gosh it was a derby game for heavens sake, last week a Leeds player put Makinson out for probably 2 or 3 games and had no case to answer, the fight on Sunday nobody was injured no blood spilt, goodness knows what some of the older players thought of it, and lets face it we all like a bit of a punch up!!!

Was it one game for the punching and 2 games for making a complete ass of himself?

Rugby League in this country is going soft. Its a physical game and tensions are bound to boil over now and again.

It seems Hock is appealing his ban. He's squealing, saying LMS started it.

The panel do however believe Mr Tuson’s reaction went further than necessary but take into account the significant level of provocation in this instance. The panel give credit to Mr Tuson for his guilty plea, good disciplinary record, and for initially avoiding a confrontation. Therefore the panel wish to downgrade this offence to a Grade B offence and feel that a 1 match suspension and £300 fine are in order."

Perfectly summed up and while prehaps this was not said by the RFL, this was probably part of their thinking

Tuson deserves no more than 1 in all honesty, and while yes he may have gone a little far by giving magennis a pasting and putting him in place as his bitch



magennis got his just deserts for his cowardice and housing!

Saints fans should think themselves lucky magennis didn't get more and LMS has escaped suspension over this incident. Magennis was clearly out of control throwing punches at whoever was near him - Tuson with his back turned, and then SOL, but only when he was being held by Meli.

The fact magennis took a pasting off tuson and then got floored by one punch off Mossop was poetic justice for thinking he was rugby leagues version of Joey Barton....he got everything he deserved...a pasting and a lienient three match ban for it...imo he was that out of control 4-6 would have been more appropriate!

Lucky Magennis got 3? It's unlucky, I was hoping for 5, he's a waste of a shirt.

I've watched this incident a lot of times now and still don't see what LMS did wrong? Hock tried to steal the Loose head, if you look at the progressions of players heads it should be Hock's inside next to Roby then LMS. They both stood up and pressed heads against each other, no headbutt from either side and then Hock punched him 6 times. LMS didn't throw one.

Please enlighten me and what LMS actually did wrong?

I think you'll find Barrie Mac and Terry O'Connor think otherwise. They were actually quite impressed as after the fight he took the ball in for a mauling.

There is a difference between being tough and being foul.

Hock is a foul player, you can be tough without having the need to launch punches all about the place. (although Saints should bear this in mind for future matches) if hock is so willing to use fists when he does not get his way, that should be our first point of attack, niggle him till he lets fly and then just stand back and let his fists and the ref do the rest.

Worth taking a few hits, to get rid and as we saw there is no real need to actually get physical, just don't let him push you about is enough to get his psycho back up.
