At the moment we don't have a Team or a Captain.

We need people working together for each other not individuals trying to do things all the time.

Looking at the wigan team and us last night they look physically & mentally better trained than us. They win most collisions and work together as a team.

Finally this is sad cause he has been a great player for us, Wello, is not captain material, and I doubt if he is good enough for the bench right now. If they want to give him the status then they need to do what we did last year and name 2 captains for on and off the field. Please stop trying the inside pass to Wello everyone sees through it and he is not quick enough to beat people these days as often as he used to.

Forget everything else KC and MR need to in still some team work on the pitch and address the captain situation.

Wellens, as well as being poor in all 3 games this season, is not a leader and sets a very poor example to the rest of the team. His team mates see him whinging, moaning, appealing for any little decision and generally displaying a defeatist attitude, after barely 10 mins of the game, and it cant exactly be inspiring for them.

Wellens is past his best now Im afraid. Been a World Class Full Back for well over 10 years but nows the time for him to hang up his boots. As famous says its completley embrassing watching Wellens contest every decision and cant be inspiring for his team mates. He could learn a thing or two from the Chris Joynt or Paul Sculthorpe book of Captaincy.

Whats even more worrying, who is good enough to take the captains role without effecting there game.

Lead by example. Look your team-mates in the eye and ask where's the effort. That is why Roby. You don't need to scream and shout your way around the pitch to be a good captain.

A captain needs to have real Heart for the game and lead by example!

Roby is the ideal candidate but I worry how much is being out on him already, he is going to burn out.

For me, Roby is by far the best player we have got and if anybody was going to lead by example in games it would be him.

However, I am not sure making him captain would be a wise move. He plays his game brilliantly and the burden of making him captain could have an effect on this, and I think offering it to somebody else and challenging them to step up to the plate and lead the team alongside Roby could work better.

Jon Wilkin would be the ideal candidate for me to take this role

I don' know if I want to heap more pressure on Roby's shoulders. Give it to Lafranchi for me.

I was just thinking of Laffranchi myself.

I don't think Roby is leadership material, at least not in the inspirational sense.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't Have Wilkin anywhere near the side at the moment. His form is woeful and I wonder if his testimonial events are distracting him from his real job!!

Wilkin does lead from the front though. I mean, the amount of times I have seen him stood in front of all the other S players as he receives his lecture off the referee this season is impressive.

Who take's over when Boof is subbed, though. That's the only drawer back with it being a prop.
From what people say about him, he's a very professional influence and certainly has the experience.

What about someone like Flanaghan? Tough, no nonsense, hard working, leads from the front, has a varied experience for someone of his age and can be on the pitch for 80 minutes.

I'm just wondering if giving it to lance would maybe put some fire in his belly.

Laffranchi's commitment and ability make him a candidate for the captaincy. Although, I reckon a few noses might be put out of joint amongst the old guard.

He'd drop it.

Its not effort or fire that he lacks. Its the skills to play In the halves thats the problem.

Joynt had players around him who were leaders though - Cunningham, Martyn, Long, Sculthorpe, Not sure there's a great deal of leadership around the team to carry the can right now, although Roby probably is our best candidate.
