Morning guys, Saints Academy won their first game of their tour beating West Tigers. A good start for the lads and hopefully their good form can continue.

Outstanding. What age group is this? And do the age groups match with the teams they are playing?

Its the U18's for next season, so all the lads are between 18-16, only 4 of the 29 I think are actually 18. The teams they are playing are I think U17, but the school year runs differently in Aus so it would be impossible to match up sepcifically.

Great result for Saints. Hope their success continues throughout the tour - oh, and that they have a great time as well!

Bet Percival scored. Awesome lad, along with Swift.

I have worked with sone if these lads at SA at u15's age group and they were outstanding players then. Some real talent coming through the ranks at Saints over the next 5 years.

They're all Wigan fans though.

Not sure on the other try scorers, but Greg Wilde scored one.

Percival scored 2 and Adam Swift 1.

Great to see tommy god out there with them too. Hopefully they can pick up a bit of his magic

Another good win today for the lads, beating the Central Coast. Next game is Cronulla at the weekend.

How far is Savelio off playing first team? I take it he's the guy who has a look of Jarryd Hayne about him? He looks a foot taller than the Saints coaches already.

I watched him playing against Wigan at Ince and he looks a big unit but tired to quickly for me?
Suppose fittness can always get better? Yes he is massive for his age?

He could have won that game for Saints (undeservedly

) but for a great chase and tackle from the Wigan winger Joe Burgess.

It's always difficult at that age because some of those players are so much bigger than their opponents, but in a few years don't grow much more and then find the game a bit more difficult.

Ben Kavanagh was a prime example.

Savelio is certainly a big athletic lad, and it'll be interesting to watch his progress.

You think Savelio looks big? You look at Luke Thompson and Greg Richards who are both the same age. Absolute animals.

If they're animals, get 'em signed up to the first team quick. We need animals! We have no animals.

Speaking of which ... haven't yet spotted a kangaroo in the pics arriving from our team down under. The latest photos on the Saints website show nothing but surfboards, sand and sea (plus some Saints blokes falling in the water and Tommy God showing off!).

I don't know who he supports, but he's a big lad. I only tell you what I know as fact.

Richards, Thompson and Savellio are only 16 and nowhere near ready for SL, all three have been very impressive so far on tour though/
