FFS, that's ruined the weekend. Booked an evening meal and ovenight stay at Soughton Hall on the Saturday evening. Sunday morning do a bit of walking etc and then onto the match.

I know the feeling all too well mate.

Sky really should pick the games sooner.

Thats excellent news - it was the one game I was going to miss because of holidays

There's a good pub right next to the ground called "The Turf". If the weather is good you can use the courtyard behind the pub, it has it's own pumps so saves you going into the bar area.

Cheers once again Sky.I get everything sorted,work included,for a leisurely Sunday trip and,less than 2 weeks to the game,the paymasters show their total disregard for the fans and switch it to a Saturday night.Unless I can arrange a late swap at work,I'm stuffed for this one.

word of advice if anyones planning to go to Wrexham-

Its a nice ground but
buy your ticket in advance from Saints ticket offices- theres no cash turnstiles at the Racecourse and anyone wanting to buy one at the ticket office there will be very likely stuck in a big queue- Salford supporters who hadnt bought in advance had terrible delays getting in the other week

Can't miss the Turf, its basically filled the corner of the Mold Road Stand and the Spion Kop.

Plas Coch is nearby too, on a retail park that offers a decent amount of parking.

Look, how many years has Sky had the rights to Super League? All 15!

In every single one of those years it has been universally known that Sky only have to give ten days notice for a change in any of the last two rounds of fixtures, due to the uncertainty of how various positional races will pan out. Anything else would be short changing their viewer.

It's happened to us half a dozen times before yet people still express shock and surprise.

If you book anything for one of the last two fixtures and it goes wrong, then you booked it at your own risk. 15 seasons of experience surely tells you that it is a possibility.

We are happy to take their money so you have to abide by the rules that they spelled out back in 1996. I just can't believe that after all this time, people still don't use their loaf when it comes to late season fixtures and legislate that all fixtures can be subject to late revision.

Strange how people come one here all sanctimonious once they find out that there is a later train home and they don't have to miss the last 10 minutes of the game.


We all know how Sky operate and are well aware of their utter disregard for the fans of Super League clubs.It's not a problem for those who can turn up anytime,anyday but a lot of people have work commitments which take a hell of a lot of negotiating to change at such short notice,especially during the holiday season.
Thankfully,me and the boss have a good relationship,so I'll be there for the game(although it'll cost me at some point.

)
