read som of the posts on the Wigan board about this and there seems to be a bit of doom and gloom - In theory I think the BBC should keep the CC but that should be with proper coverage and promotion.

Although moving the event to SKY might reduce some of the audience you can gurentee they will promote it alot better.

What exactly is this 'list' that the article mysteriously and uninformatively refers to? Is it a list of sports that BBC will cover? Or a list of sports events that have to be made available on terrestrial tv?

A few months ago I would have been happy that the beeb lost the coverage; however the 4nations coverage has been excellent. perhaps this is beacuse Ray French is no longer commentating.

The weak link with the beeb now seems to John Kear IMO; which is strange because he is normally very good as a summariser on SKY.

The list is showpiece events that must be shown free to air, sky etc cannot bid for them. The result is itv and bbc pay about 10p for the rights. Removing the CC final from the list is great news as it will mean more money into the game, i personally hope sky get it and promote the competition as only they can.

I dont get what all the fuss Is about,Its not if its banned from the beeb.They can still bid for It as can Sky etc.

Completely agree, sky can't have the ashes, imagine if we got 1 tenth of that money for the challenge cup? this can only be good news, thats why cricket are very upset. We should be celebrating!
