I thought long was very good last night.

I've been a big critic of longy over last 2 years but he's been awesome for us.

Now it seems real he's leaving and is a sad day as he's been IMO 1 if not the best player to play super league.

I echo those thoughts! The only problem I think has been that he has never been at risk of losing his spot in a long time therefore sometimes he has been able to relax and just ride the waves and not put in 100% performances...

Its been a very very long time since I've been as excited as I am about Kyle Eastmond... his raw talent is awesome and as Longy says with the correct mentoring this kid could be one of the best in the world (pretty big statement but I believe in this kid)

Kyle has defo got all the tools to be top class player.

During the opening 25 minutes last night I thought Longy had a great chance of claiming the MOM award. Sadly, once we lost the forward momentum, he had a weak platform from which to continue, and his excellent kicking of the opening quarter faded slightly. The opening quarter was vintage Longy though. Those little drop of the shoulders had me pining for the Longy of old to make one more appearance.

If I'm being honest I thought longy was best player on the pitch.

If we would have won he'd have been man of match.

love to know what they put in the water if you thought long was best player on the pitch, started well, but thats all. never mind keep on dreaming, he may change his mind and stay, then Eastmond might look elsewhere, now there is a star in waiting, with the right coach, lets give smith a go.

Bit of a difference Carvell signed an extension and decided to leave for another club. Long has signed for another club I think him sacking them off could cost him ALOT of money

The thing that impressed me most about Eastmond last night was his defence. We all know how good he is with ball in hand, but I thought his defense was the best ive ever seen it. Made some really important tackles.

We won't if Eastmond or A N Other of our young players steps up and impresses.

I hope for Saints sake that Kyle Eastmond was watching Sale Sharks this afternoon. Apart from the last 10 minutes they were awful and the commentators mentioned their lack of cash several times. Make him a good offer now, he'll stay.

The was a lot of hype made about eastmonds having poor defence but I've yet to see it.

In last few weeks he's been up against some good centres but I've not seen him miss a tackle.

I think the hype was all made up by a certain pie eater off the pies forum.

Now thats the future... exciting, young and British... Wheelers step is second to know and a fierce attacking weapon and Eastmond well... basically won games against Wigan and Warrington single handidly also scoring all the Grand Final points...

The only one worry... Wheelers injury record to date

Exacting combination for the future, Eastmond has toughened up the past couple of months. If we can play with a dominant pack next season this should give Wheeler more time and space to be the next "Tommy".

I'm not one for bagging young players as you all know on here, but both Eastmond and Wheeler have reputations for "looking for the trainer" when the going gets tough.


It happened with Eastmond again last night.

That maybe the image you pften portray Brian but you aren't half making a habit of making these same statements about [uour[/u young players lately.

I've also had a go at the likes of Ashton, Ainscough and Gleeson (Sean) from the Wigan side in the past.
