Broughton is solid as a rock. A fine young winger. If he stays at Leeds (He obviously isn't too keen as he's not signed yet and is still negotiating) he will become Donald's replacement.

If he was that good surely they'd be throwing an offer at him that he couldn't refuse, and there wouldn't be talk of him joining Salford or Wakey.

They have Donald and Hall on contracts. They also have Watkins and Jones Bishop as cover for the outside backs. They've been trying to sign up Broughton too and are still negotiating with him. They obviously just have a bit of trouble giving him enough money to sign with the cap room they have left.

it's pretty much common knowledge at Leeds that gh keeps at least one space in the cap free to bring in a big signing if needed due to injury or the right person is available mid season. The reason why scruton left and broughton might is Leeds have a strict pay scale where you earn you stripes by playing in the first team and moving on to rep honours. If broughton like scruton wants a pay day then he can leave, if he wants to Nuccle down and be a part of a good Leeds team he has the choice.

Look at scruton, he was offered a better deal but took the biggest one offered to him. he's probably on a beach somewhere gutted he's not in the play off semi with his best mates.

bang on. same reasons we let Karl Pratt go and a few others. broughton is the future winger for Leeds but he has to realise it will take time. Donald probably has 1 or 2 years left but if broughton stays and plays well then he will get his chance. Lets not forget we are losing a back in Smith so there would be more chance of him getting a game now
