| Yep, it's a daft rule but it's been around quite a while. Nothing to do with the building. I think it's something to do with copyright, in case you catch one of our cool superstars ( ) in the pic by mistake. Or maybe you inadvertently snap a Sky cameraman while in the course of his duties, thereby blowing his cover.
The rule may also be to do with distraction? If the rule wasn't there, perhaps people would try taking photos during a match, which prolly wouldn't be so good for the players.
These are just guesses, as I'm sure you will realise.

| Probably something to do with causing a distraction during evening games.
Jumping for a high ball or reciving a difficult pass with a load of camera flashes going off might be seen as too much of a distraction to the players.

| Our policy at the Galpharm is Profesional SLR type cameras are definately not allowed as it would be easy to ascertain that the pictures were for public use rather than private use which is breach of copyright. But compact personal cameras are allowed as it's unlikely the pictures would enter the public domain ( which in this day and age is actually more likely due to social networking sites!)
As for the argument of the flash may distract the players? How many sporting fixtures do you see with constant flashes?? they just get on with it I have never heard a pole vaulter blaming a few flashes in the crowd maent he didn't clear the bar! Pathetic!! But then again I have noticed that KR when on sky have appauling lighting, The lighting has to be a certain lux level and KR must barely pass that and last night ( my first ever visit!) I noticed lighting was very low I'm suprised Sky ever want to have a Saints home match on TV or that Saints prefer evening games, my local floodlit pitch has better lighting!!

Well, us Saints fans are just relieved when the lights are working. There was one match a few weeks back when one of the floodlights was decidedly dodgy and needed fixing but if the block had been turned off, it was unlikely any of them would have worked again that night! So we had a flickering bulb all evening. It's all part and parcel of having a ground that is falling to pieces, the reason why we are keeping everything crossed that our new place is built, and soon!
Glad you could make it to our illustrious establishment before the diggers come in.

| the should encourage taking photo's of the pitch with a flash as they need as mush light on the pitch as they can, as the floodlights are rubbish.

| The lights on the end of the Eddy stand were not working again last night and that is partly why it looked so dark.

The Saints policy is the same as the Galpharm. No professional SLR type cameras are allowed. If it was a 'normal', everyday camera you were using I would complain to the club. It makes more sense than moaning about it on a public message board.

Yup, the GPW Recruitment Stadium. But all the Saints fans refer to it as Knowsley Road and that's how it's going to be until we are no longer there, I reckon.

I do agree and it was a normal camera and also by putting it on a public message board i am preventing other peeps from making the same mistake, or am i trying to encourage a mass lets take pics at knowsley road protest? BTW flash wont travel further than a few yards even from top quality SLR cameras, its potency is lost after that, flash wasnt being used it was daylight anyway.
