If there had been a bust up between potter and graham then surely potter would be the one out the door before graham anyway ...

agree, Potter is nothing special. Even Cullen could have won the league with the Saints squad

| Most probably rubbish but the fact that these rumours are cropping up speaks volumes for the state of both clubs at the moment.
Warrington - Wealthy backer, strong squad, good stadium, set to announce at least three big signings this year (Myler, Atkins and Solomona) each of whom would get in our side, winners of a major trophy this season. Started poorly but appointed Smith, who's in a different league to Potter.
Saints - Lurching around like a headless chicken (And a slow one at that)on the field suffering from a questionable choice of coach, one signing only for next season with 2 major players leaving (Which is the 4th consecutive season of weakening the squad), no money and a stadium on the verge of collapse. If the stadium development fell down we'd be in a world of trouble. Even with it, it looks like our decades of success have been caught up in a few months by the likes of Wire, Huddersfield and Hull KR.

No, its me being optimistic.
Given the squad we've had over the past decade and the success we've had, Potter has done nothing more and perhaps less than a par round. We're not in a position to win a trophy this season given our current form, which is a massive disappointment.
The club has made some appalling decisions over recent years and every year the squad depth is deliberately eroded. Sure some of the kids look good and I'm sure some will make it. But we're heading backwards. Long term isn't dire, I don't expect a Wigan-esque fall from grace, but looking ahead to next season, a realistic target for us is to get in the top 4. For the first time in about 13 years I don't think winning SL is realistic next year.

| I think thats far to negative.
Over the years, Saints have lost players and in the past i've thought to myself that when certain players went it would lead to the downfall of yourselves. Its never materialised. Whoever has left has been replaced adequately well.
Over the next couple of years there will be holes to fill....
Cunningham to be replaced by Roby/Moore (Not sure on Moore myself though)
Long to be replaced by Eastmond (Easy choice)
Gidley to be replaced with another top quality centre from Aus more than likely.
Wellens will need replacing in a couple more years. (God im getting old, played in the same college team as him)
On top of that the usual churn of players, like Gilmour etc.
I think the league is getting closer and more competitive, whether quality is getting worse thats subjective but at the end of the day i hope there aren't just two teams running away with the league and Saints will always be in the mix....

You're making us sound like poor old Doncaster here Saddened! (I feel right sorry for Doncaster fans - a year ago they had just been promoted and now it looks like they have no club: what a sad place for them to be)

If the stadium plans fell down we'd be in horrible position.
I pointed out below the bits everyone sensationalises that the long term isn't dire. We're still going to be around the top end (Hopefully) but I don't think Saints are going to be the pick of the pre-season candidates for trophies anymore.
Everyone on here eulogises about 'Big Mac' but if you look at the decay of the squad you can see it's not all good work. The stadium is the key for the club, we get that and it opens the way for us to return to the top of the tree, but unless the club are cutting back deliberately to save money for the bid (Which I would be fine with) the lack of signings and the poor squad development will have cost us dear. We were always going to have a challenge to break up the Wellens, Long, Cunningham, Scully backbone and remain a genuine shout for trophies and its that I think we've failed at, it was possibly inevitable, but we've not made a very good attempt at it.

If we don't sort out our front row, Graham will be lucky to make it to 28 as a full time Pro.

| I think "Big Mac" is having to look at the long term future of the club and not go down the Wigoon route.
Finances will favoured to the new stadium, while the team policy has been set to youth progression.
If this means an unsuccessful team for a couple of seasons so be it, next year will be even more transitional with the objective of a long term future for the club and hopefully a gradual return to the saints dynasty.

| Have heard that Graham and Potter have had a row, over the same weight gain idea that seems to be blighting the club at the moment, Apparently Graham told him where to go and said if forced into this he would a new club. Highly doubt he'd go to Warrington though.

Yea. Apparently the real story is Mick Potter's mother came over. As you can imagine, she is of an age. And We all know from the videos that that's how Jammer likes them.
Anyways, one thing led to another, Jammer took her to Panama's where she slipped on the stairs and now needs a new hip.
That's the real reason behind the rift.

| I've heard that Potter prefers the funny kind of slippers, you know, like bear feet or elephant heads, whereas Graham is more of your M&S type slipper. Anyway, they had a big argument and ended up slapping each other around the face with their slipper of choice.
Luckily Longy intervened and sent both of them to the naughty corner where they both agreed that regardless of the type, slippers were funkin' awesome.

And Wello was going to be supplied a pair to see how fast he could run in them. It's true, Peter Kay says so.

| God, don't get me started on Wello. I've heard that he wee'd in the orange squash and Leon, having spent the last 20 minutes sorting the drinks out for everyone was not best pleased. After KC had stopped him crying, Wello painted him a picture and they're best mates again now.
Tell thee, our dressing room. If it's not one thing of utter bullsh*t, it's another.
