He did come back on though, so it can't have been that bad, either that or he risked making it much worse than it was.

A lot of serious knee injuries don't stop you walking/running. Ask Paul Sculthorpe. A lot of them just take the power away meaning you can't drive in the tackle or hold your ground when being pushed.

What was the initial prognosis on Cayless? I seem to remember August being mentioned, so you never know. If he could come back and keep himself in one piece for the run in that would be a very significant boost to our chances of silverware.
