I was reading another thread earlier and it got me thinking about the playoffs and the RLF's need to stage an end of season showpiece (the only real need for the GF imo) and what could replace the Grand Final in the unlikely event that winning the league became the most important thing in UK RL.

I then started to think about the Dream Team and what they could do to make more of this, maybe they could get that collection of players to play together against another team, in a similar way to which they play the pro-bowl in the NFL.

Maybe the oft muted origin East v West teams could play against the Dream Team, or just against one another or against a combined southern hemisphere Superleague team. Maybe shift the WCC to October in its present or an expanded form. Or perhaps you could create two Dream Teams.

I'm just throwing ideas out there for fun... discuss!

i'd like to see the full international team vs the under 23's, there would be merry hell in the forwards, but the backs would be interesting?

Personally said it for a few years....I would like to see a first past the post system with the top 3/4 qualifying for an expanded WCC play off format with the top 3/4 aussie teams....especially with the dilluted play off system this year which is nothing but a gloryfied premiership....Im not a massive fan of the play offs anyway, but in their current let any tom dick and harry basis in theyve become a joke and it will be seen in some of the drab P Off games at the end of the season.

Unfortunately the way SL has lost so much ground on the NRL recently I dont think we could compete in a WCC at the minute unfortunately. Ultimately though ive said for the last 10 years we need an extended WCC with say the top 8 (top 3 from SL and NRL plus NZW and Catalans so you have france and NZ) playing a WCC every year. We need something international to market our game on like union does with the 6 naitons and the heiniken cup!
