Rogues will be the best to comment but heard today that Saints and Wigan argeed a fee for that Bobby Davro lookalike on the wing last week. Ainscough came for talks and then turned us down!!! I find it hard to believe the goons would sell him especially to us.
Just like to add that the guy who told me does have good connections with wigan and the junior game in the area but still seems hard to believe

This is up there with Tomkins going to Wire and having talks with them about a possible move. I do wonder if the people who start these rumours are either on glue or just like seeing just how gullable people are to believe and spread them.

I haven't heard anything regarding Ainscough or Tomkins leaving Wigan.

I am not quite convinced regarding Ainscough as yet.

He could quite easily go on to become the next Offiah or Penny (at the moment).

The basics are there for him apart from his defence.

I certainly wouldn't be paying a transfer fee for the kid at this point.

I hope he proves my doubts wrong as we need a winger that could genuinely scare people on the International stage.

Ainscough is (IMO) better then Penny already. I'd love him at saints now, let alone in 2/3 years. His defence is not bad, just his kick defence, but a few months getting peppered in training can improve that. A real prospect in my opinion

He's too much of a Goon to sign for Saints. He's ugly, balding and you can tell he's a pie from a mile off. Leave him there.
