Chris, that seems to be the case in the clubs statements, but in interviews on the radio etc its not so clean cut, they still hint at maybe it could be ready earlier.
I should think its to do with season ticket sales, they cant sell season tickets with the promise of x number of games to be played at the new stadium when delays could very easily happen.
Its a case of plan to play all season at Widnes, home games at the new stadium will be a bonus.
Also of importance to the club is the number of games at the new stadium next season (if any) the club will have a figure in mind, to maximise on the impact that a new stadium brings, not enough games and I dont think you will see a game there till 2012 season when they can get the full benifit of a new stadium and all the hype that goes with it.

A couple of different vans on the site today, parked on the waste land were the Tesco car park will be, so things look like they are moving on pretty quickly.

Probably 40k at the least to watch Bon Jovi a couple of years ago (in a 25k stadium with a large portion of the seats not used, (obviously)) I couldn't see why your new stadium couldn't be used (successfully) for such events.

Probably pot plants for the new portakabins.

The Grey area is car parking but not for the stadium, there are around 90 spaces for people who will probably pay for parking or corporate / disabled and the rest of the parking is planned to use the multi storey's in town as far as I am aware.....They are only a short walk away over the planned new bridge and should produce secure parking for all.......Tesco's will probably not allow people onto the site like at Warrington.

I am pretty sure that we were told No matchday parking on site but with several multi story carparks nearby also easy walking distance of the Bus and Railway stations, there doesnt have to be

On a serious note when I look on the new stadium website and see the old photos of KR, well I sure will miss it.

To paraphrase myself from the other thread, I believe you can park at Tesco Warrington on matchdays provided you have a permit. The Ravenhead retail park opposite should provide ample parking, so long as they don't try to charge for it, which they inevitably will.

The retail parks will NOT allow match day parking. The wheel clamping companies will already be rubbing their hands, beware.
