But what I will do is not judge a players abiltity till I have given him a chance to become a part of the team!! but he can't be that bad if he has played 70 first grade games for a team near the top of the nrl!! I doubt it tbh - I would think we'd be giving him the pre season with us to help him bed in if he was the long term option. If eastmond wont sign a new contract we need to fire him off now , no matter how good he is and get a replacement in who we can keep for a least a couple of seasons.

If he is off, then I'd keep eastmond on board to use as a utility back (like when he played centre on sat) and concentrate on using one of the other youngsters at 7.

We either lose the ball before 5th tackle or do the power play in our own half.

If Eastmond is definitely not going to sign a new contract then I wouldn't waste time in trying to bed him in at 7, as said before, I'd use him as a utility back whenever needed.

No use wasting 12 months to be back at square one the year after, if he'd been an experienced half back then it might be a different matter.

Hopefully he'll sign a new contract though...

Eastmond leaving is only a rumour, whether its true or not nobody knows (except Eastmond, Offiah and Sale of course). The front page of the League Express once stated that we had signed Civoniceva, but even that didn't happen. I wouldn't go believing it until its officially announced.

I did use full stops and didn't over use !! And ?? But it got such a reaction fron you lot I just kept doing it !! It amuses me very much that it gets a reaction!!

Apart from the half backs they look strong next year.

mcguire is opta's stand off of the year!! For a message board that is so obsessed with stats I thought a few more people would appreciate a 6 that has been awesome this season and just keeps getting better and better.

It is the one position where we don't have specialist cover, if 2 of McGuire, Burrow and Sinfield were out we might struggle though I think Webb or Buderus could play there at a push. Not sure Danny Allen is good enough and Simon Brown who played there for the reserves has been released.

At the time I was dissapointed that we didn't get McNally from Whitehaven as he would have been ideal long term cover.

He is, despite having (in comparison to Pryce when the team was announced):

Less runs from dummy half
Less 40/20s
More missed tackles
More penalties
More errors

Despite Pryce having a poor year by his standards. At the time I looked at it (just after the team was announced) McGuire had made three more clean breaks and kicked more.

Which makes me wonder how they put the stats team together.
