Still no anouncement of the contractor for the stadium. This is getting to be very worrying. It's now taken them (Arcadis and Langtree) three months of dliberation to decide this. I hope there is nothing serious behind this delay as it shouldn't take this long.

Then we wont be playing at the new ground before August 2011. Why do they keep making such over optimistic timeline announcements? They are either - 1) just fobbing us off with any crap, or 2) knowingly not telling the truth, or 3) being lied to by other people and the club just believe it, then repeat it to us, or 4) something is going wrong behind the scene.

Why don't people just think along the lines that we'll be in the new stadium in 2012 and then anything else before it is a bonus?

Must admit I was getting concerned with the lack of news and the length of time the tender process was taking, so I went to the top and asked, the reply is posted in my previous post.

The 'it'll take as long as it takes' attitude is all well and good but the club tell us we will be in the new ground at a certain date, when it's plain to see we wont.

If the club come out and said - look, we haven't got a clue how long this will take, so stop asking - we'll be in when we're in'. Then I think people (me) would stop getting expectations up.

If scrutinising the tenders takes a year then fine it takes a year, just don't tell me it will take 6 weeks.

For security/benefit of the Council as planning authority, a bond should be
put in place of sufficient amount to fund the construction costs of the
stadium. The bond should be put in place upon commencement of
construction of the stadium. The Council cannot call upon the bond unless
the 4 year period in (b) has expired without practical completion of the stadium. The bond amount will be for the full construction cost of the
stadium. It will be reduced monthly based upon the valuation of the work
carried out under the stadium construction contract such that at practical
completion it will be reduced to 1.5% of the total and be fully released 12
months thereafter. If the bond is drawn upon the Council will be
guaranteed access to the site to complete the works.

Cite discharge conditions all you like. No contract; no bond. Simples!

What was traffic like this morning, or have you changed your route? It was incredibly slow yesterday, so I avoided it completely this morning.

To be honest I go up peasley cross road and join the roundabout at the top by Macdonalds , it seems easier than struggling up past the site.
Coming home I come back down there past Maccys again the traffic is usually quiet by the time I get into St Helens about 10 past 6 so its not too bad , Ironically the pictures were taken on Sunday which looked far woorse than when I use it

For the first time I actually believed the build timescales that the club advised which would have meant the project starting about now! especially as its our last season at KR

However I had a chat with some wire fans who work for some construction company involved with the tender process and they say nothing has been decided at this time as to who's got the job. Obviously they are hoping its Barrs as they would do the foundations and footings for the stadium.

When it comes to steelwork and the subcontracting out of the various phases are we realistically looking at months rather than weeks.

I hope I am wrong but the loud silence from the club is worrying me.
