| Quote ="Judder Man"That means Wellens returning to full back and the club want volunteers to play scrum half.'"
We were goi okay until McDonnell went off. But as with all to often this year, 1 tiny little thing throws them off kilter and next thing we know were 20 points down.
What was even more frustrating for me was I felt at half time we could really go on and recover and give one last big push, alas it was not to be. Nobody can really hold their heads up after that performance.
If McDonnell has broken his jaw, it just sums up our season. Swift to fullback? (thought his performance was a very dim bright point in the direness that was that performance - in at least he proved himself to be 10x better than Dawson, who is the definition of mediocre) or Wellens to fullback and Hewitt into the side? How much worse could it get? Wellens will get a lot of stick, but he actually created our only 2 try's which is more than can be said for our "real" halfback hohaia who offered precisely nothing, other than weak defence. Manu, Laffranchi and Soliola were very poor, lms, Flanaghan Amor and Masoe were completely anonymous. I still can't figure out who was playing where in the backs, and by the looks of it neither did they. Brown did himself absolutely no favours with his post match interview. He made me even more angry about it than I already am. There was absolutely no game plan, our kicking game was possibly the biggest embarrassment in a night of embarrassments. On the one hand you can say were missing our halfbacks, BUT that's precisely why we needed a clear and concise plan.
The only bright side is I'm off internet for the weekend...

When was the last time he did anything he should. He hasn't got the balls to make a decision like that. He'll just continue making his ridiculous statements suggesting we're on the cusp of glory again. He won't face up to the mistakes he's made or do anything about them.

It's never too late to do the right thing!
It's Mike Rush who loves Brown. Wants him to stay on after next year. McManus trusts Rush. So I very much doubt McManus will sack Brown. Brown is secure and all the players can go home knowing they don't have to perform well to be guaranteed a spot next week.

I'm sure McManus will be back out at the play off game warning the players in the programme and acting the big man making his big threats. Then we'll be ritually humiliated and he'll shut up until the soundbite notes next year when the season opener at LP is looming.

Let's just think about that for a moment. It's the equivalent of football fans talking about a forward who 'does nothing in a game except score goals'.

| Quote ="EastStandFaithful"And did you see the Saints stroll on 68 minutes?
Would never happen in Wigan that boys!!!
'"
Never mind the 68th minute they strolled for 75 mins out of the 80 mins. I,m blaming the players 100% for this shocking performance not the coaching staff not the chairman but every individual who was wearing a saints shirt on that pitch.
It was our last regular home game a derby against one of our local rivals for bragging rights and the best opportunity to win silverware with a large home crowd on your side.........you don,t need a coach or chairman to prepare for this, if you are professional then self motivation surfaces to make sure you perform at your best.
What we got was a very amateur lazy performance who surrendered to the opposition quite easily after 5 minutes, I,ve never seen so many dumb offensive and defensive plays in one single match before.
Our defensive line speed was non existent allowing warrington to make 10-15 metres on every play, Warrington were smart in knowing the ref was not policing the 10 metre rule and were 2-3 metres up before we played the ball putting us on the back foot'
One of the embarrassing moments was when Makinson dropped the ball on the kick return, 6 players put in a lot of effort to pat him on the back including Swift who ran 50 metres from the other side of the pitch to join in with the back slapping sympathy ceremony.
If we some how manage to win the league leaders shield we can thank the players for making this achievement as flat as a pancake after yesterdays game.

| Most of what my feeling are have been posted in the previous 4 pages.
Whatever Brown may think, McManus will be fuming.
Our forwards have been rightly pilloried but our backs were just as bas. In particular Turner was complete poo; I just don't rate him. My thoughts go back to all the Hull fans warning us that his defence in non existent.
Why didn't he pick Wheeler, he surely could do NO worse than Wello, Hi Ho & Turner. Having said that he would probably have gone off injured after 30 seconds.

| We've still never beaten Warrington at LP. Although our win record there as improved this season, overall it's still not great.
Since 2012 we've played 44 competitive fixtures at LP. We've won 27, drawn 1 and lost 16 times. There's still no fear factor there. Teams still look forward to coming down and playing us there.
In 44 away fixtures we've won 28, drawn 2 and lost 14 times.
Now I've no doubt got these figures slightly wrong but the message is still there...although it's improved, we're still a bit of a soft touch at home.

| Quote ="Saddened!"Another quite ridiculous performance from a team devoid of a soul. There is no backbone in this side, as soon as anything goes against them they turn to jelly. Wellens as captain is a joke, an utter joke. When the decisions were going against us after we scored, he should have been in his face complaining and demanding better. There were some utterly ridiculous decisions given tonight and he never opened his mouth.
Our pack is the best in the league if you believe Walsh, Brown, McManus and a lot of idiots on here. They're a joke. Individually they look decent players at times, but whenever it matters they get completely demolished. Tonight was unnacceptably bad, Wire lost Grix and Westwood and Waterhouse and Asotasi are appalling. They didn't even have a bench yet they still smashed up to pieces.
McManus has got to be ruthless, he's got to wake up from his slumber and have a complete clear out. We cannot give Wellens another deal, he's a complete joke, a total liability defensively and a terrible player with the ball. Turner is another who has to go. Yet they're holding back on giving Manu a contract? Release McDonnell, Dawson, Wellens, Hohaia and Masoe and we would save a packet and wouldn't notice the difference.'"
Wow.....!!!! So that's why you're top of the table then...............would hate to think where you would be if you were playing at your full potential then....!!!!

| What happens now Do you settle for second by resting your wounded, or go all out for the plate next week? I know I’ve said that if you can get it (the LLS that is) then go for it, but now, it’s a lot harder to choose the right way to go for saints.

| I've no problem with calling the team performance poor. BUT.
There are a few on here who are plainly agenda driven. I've no time for that.
The lambasting of a team at the top of the league, who have won more games this year than the rest. Who have won games after Walsh got injured when most said that's it and we will win no more games.
Sack the coach even. It's utter drivel from people who for no good reason dislike certain players or Brown.
Why did Wheeler not play?? Well he had all those weeks to impress when Lance was out and impressed no one.
How I long for the days when a coach would get us to 4th or 5th in the table, get this coach who has got us to the top and our first chance of silver in 6 years out.
It's utter nonsense and for some reason that I can not fathom dogmatic from some on here. Never liked from day one and praying for games like this to push their agenda.
Makinson was tosh last night, do I use that to say sack him. No because the rest of his season has to be taken into account.

Last night was worse for me. At least in the Magic game we came back a bit in the 2nd half.
Last night we were just horrendous throughout and somehow managed to get worse in the 2nd half. We made so many amateurish errors, we just didn't give ourselves any chance at all against a Warrington team who were pretty good on the night.

| I can't help but think people are going overboard about last night.
We were missing a lot of pivots (and lost another to a broken jaw early on) and played like strangers, with a bit of a roasting from the ref thrown in.
Yes it was hugely disappointing, yes it wasn't an acceptable performance level. But there's a game next week which, if we win, we're lifting silverware.
I think I'll see how they react next week and in the play-offs before crucifying the team and club - in my opinion we have performed admirably for most of the recent past given the circumstances.

I think making excuses is what's led us to where we are now.
Yes, we've a good chance of finishing top. But does anyone really think we've a chance of lifting the trophy that matters at Old Trafford?

Top of the league with a game to play?
Quote ="Th'ump"Yes, we've a good chance of finishing top. But does anyone really think we've a chance of lifting the trophy that matters at Old Trafford?'"
Well, no because we're missing our star signing at 7 for the season, who was replaced by Wilkin who is out for the season, we could play Lomax there but he's out for the season, but thankfully we brought in a reserve fullback to cover for him who is out for the season.
Here's a thought - would Leeds win it without Sinfield and Hardaker, plus reserves like say Burrow and McGuire out? I think I know the answer.
Let's retain perspective - there is absolutely no question whatsoever that the squad improved on last year through the addition of Walsh, Amor and Masoe (when fit), this is fairly evident from our league position despite the season long injury issues.
People make it sound like we are on an irreversible slide - we have an improved squad compared to last year which has been decimated. Chances are the squad will improve again next year with some signings.
Those who make out that there is some head in the clouds mentality at Saints that ignores the shortcomings of the squad at the moment are not being fair (or honest) about the sterps being taken to rectify matters; steps that so far have us sat top of the league.
