No its not, plenty of people dont know they have injuries at the time they do them.

I work with a woman who broke her neck falling off a horse, and didnt know she had done it, until weeks later after she passed out, for no apparent reason.

A player can get a bang to a face and it goes a bit numb, but think nothing of it, only later after the match or following a further knock can a player notice the injury.

James Roby for example broke his hand on friday but didnt stop playing.He proably only noticed the injury after the match was over and the adreneline had left his system.

so Stosic was running around with a fractured eye socket and a depressed cheekbone and didn't know it. Then in a bizzare coincidence Cunningham just happened to punch him on that exact spot!

The response to the Costin incident was OTT, I'll give you that. Happens at all clubs, though.

With Newton, it was the deliberate (and successful) attempt to put players out of the game that got Saints fans (and many non Saints fans as I recall) up in arms.

It was the call from Saints fans that the player who committed the "foul" should be suspended for until the player that he injured was fit to return.

That was the call in both the Costin and Newton cases. Do they still support this policy?

Quite probable. My step dad had a damaged vertebrate in his neck for over 20 years before he lifted our kid up one day and ended up being sliced and diced to fix it.

I disagree Demetriou's forearm continuous to follow through and reaches maximum impact on Wellens face forcing his neck back at a dangerous angle.

Ask any fighter if a punch needs to travel more than a few inches to cause serious damage they'll tell you no.

With Stosic this is a possibilty........live with it.

the fact is that kfc intended to strike and did so
for the intention alone whether he meant to cause severe injury or not, he was reckless as to whatever injury could be caused and should therefore receive a two match ban at the very least
