On the Sky Anytime edition of Boots & All, Barrie Mac seemed to imply it was a done deal. He also mentioned Danny Brough moving to the cherry & whites greatest rivals which I took to mean you guys. Thought nothing of it but if Pryce is looking at a custodial sentence as hinted at by the judge, then you'd need a new half back. Anyone on here heard anything?

The Danny Brough rumours have been there for about two years. Is he good enough to replace Slong? Does that massive vote of no confidence in the academy players mean they aren't as useful as we all seem to think, Esatmond in particular? Or is Brough being thought of as a stop gap?

I don't think people like that get things wrong too often, if he mentions it, it would mean they are trying to make it happen, whether it actually works out or not. Gleeson is a decent signing for the Pies, but surely about 4 years too late? They should have organised a triple pronged deal to sign him when we cut him loose.

So anyone with an ear to the Saints camp want to tell me what the plans are? Is Longy retiring with KC at the end of the season?

You what gov? I wasn't on about that, the Brough move is surely for next season? We haven't got the money to be throwing at half backs when we have players capable of providing cover anyway?

And in any case if we did release a player for serious breach of contract (As a period of self imposed time away from the club would be) the RFL would immediately remove him from any lists of calculations we wanted them to.

I took it to mean this season suggesting it wouldn't be to replace Long. Would the length of any absence from the club be taken into account before a player was released, I can't recall how Leeds played it with Bailey & Chev, other than they stood by them

I'd agree with you on that, would give you an ideal chance to blood Eastmond. My problem with Brough is like Briers he doesn't take the line on enough, got good passing and kicking game but like I said poor running game.

No idea why Warrington would want Goulding and Mathers! Cas wouldn't even have Mathers, when it was reported Wigan were interested in Mcgoldrick. They should just take the cash.

On Radio Merseysides 'Try Time last night.' They said they had spoken to Noble and Smith about the Gleeson rumour and neither of them new anything about it.

I suppose that might just mean it is on the cards - wouldn't surprise me one bit with those two teams.

Good points - he has plenty room for development and improvement.

I had it from a very good source that Anderson wanted Goulding at Saints but he wanted to stay in the pie dome and fight for a place, I honestly think Goulding has alot of potential and might be a very good signing for Warrington especially if Gleeson really doesnt want to be there.

Gleeson is still a superb centre and if successful, Wigan would have a great acquisition! And a British one to boot. I'd have Gleeson back at Saints.
