I think we both know they ain't good great wingers, im trying to say maybe gleeson and carmont didn't give last pass. Some tries may have come from other players or even kicks.

Gidley has not played many games and has been pretty poor but still set same amount of tries as gleeson.

So we may have saved some dosh on SC then.

Roberts and Goulding have been Gleesons wingers this season and scored 30 tries

Gidleys winger Gardner has scored ten.

Gleeson has only played two more games than Gidley this season.

I think with a better team and getting better ball you will see him come on leaps and bounds. He is only young and has all tools to become the best centre in super league.

I see gidley play every week and he not been to hot this year and not great at times last year. He still ok and nothing goes through him but he is on his last legs if being honest.

I think saints are doing a good deal if it's true.

Gardner has scored 10 but gidley not set him up for 10, gidley has made 4 assits this year but maybe not all to ade.

I think a few Saints fans may end up with egg on their faces if Saints dont sign Shenton.

There has been no official announcement as of yet from the club.

Therefore we may as well talk about Saints signing Ingliss and Wigan signing Billy Slater.

Until its officially announced Shenton is a Castleford player.

Im old enough to remember the past when we were supposed to be signing Newlove, he signed for Bradford, and then there was Shelford who actually signed for Wigan. Not to mention the yearly. Meninga is coming back rubbish.

Many people were convinced a few years ago that Webke was in the bag. He never joined us.
Also 12 months or so ago you would have though Lyon was in the bag from some of the discussions on this and other forums.

I think perry will be a solid if unspectacular signing for us. He will take some of the work from Grahams shoulders and give us a bit more beef in the middle

Gardner is on his second session of injury absence at present. The first entailed him being out for four weeks and so far he has been out for three weeks with this bout of injury. Sometimes, Rogues, stats are worthless. Gardner is bound to have scored fewer tries as he has played in fewer games. That isn't necessarily a reflection of Gidley's ability or form but more a reflection of the fact that Gidley has had to play centre to a selection of wingers this season.

Oh and add Gidley's own injury absence to that as well, of course, and you will have a better idea of the reality.

If we dont sign him, no problem, i still think he is good player if he signs for us or not.

Don't want to wee on my own chips but has anyone checked his injury record just in case we end up without him for a lot of the season?

I shouldnt participate in this pointless debate but what the hell . Gleeson is not a Wingers centre and never has been, he throws out some real howlers but he has outstanding footwork, When he first ended up at Dire he looked pretty dangerous in a poor team but he seems to have faded with time and everytime I've seen him for Wigan he hasnt really impressed me.

Coley is 31 next month, fielden will be 30 next season and gleeson and carmont will pushing 30 next year.

I just don't see what your getting at by coming out and saying they will be 30 next year ?

I also think he's a closet Saints fan, a bit like Fishta who gets a hard on for Cunningham now and again (usually when he's put on a big hit or scored a bollocking try). Rogues appears on here to wind us up as his cover.

I say Rogues needs to step out of the closet and stand proud in the red V. He knows it's what he really wants.

Carmont is well over 30 and I don't think will be at Wigan next year. I have openly stated that I would give Coley a one year deal and Fielden a two year deal based on their excellent performances this season.

However I don't like too many over 30's in a team. I saw what happened to the great Wigan side of the 50's and 60's when Boston Ashton and McTigue stayed a little too long. A similar thing happened with Farrell, Craig Smith, Lam etc

The reason I mentioned it on the Wire board was that I was hoping for some dialogue with their supporters after they have now announced, Monagha, Solomona and Hodgson as signings. I honestly believe it's a risk.

On the original part of my post I was merely stating to someone that Gleeson and Carmont have IMO been better than Shenton this season and used their wingers try scoring exploits to illustrate this.

I also agree with chairmaker that Perry will be a solid prop for yourselves, very good defensively but don't expect him to be a rampaging tackle breaker, because from what I've seen of him he isn't.

I hope that explains my stance.

Shenton to Leeds was a big rumour whilst i was over there at Uni and i'd expect him to go there before he would come to KR.
