The text number is nothing but a gimmick - is anyone really going to store the phone number in their phone just incase they see any trouble? I very much doubt it personally.

I have unlimited texts so may have some fun with it at the weekend, see if I can get anyone ejected..

I was talking to Phil Daly who published the article earlier today. Very nice chap and looks like he is doing his best amongst many other unsung heroes of our community to promote a healthier match day come Sunday.

Jeez guys. Whatever happened to one Rugby League community? Agreed, its a shame Leeds have felt the need to make such an announcement as most of us know what is and isn't acceptable without having to be warned how to behave.

To be honest one suspects, if the article was posted this week, that they fear the controversy of the BBC screening the Leon Pryce chants on a Sunday afternoon, just before Songs of Praise.

I think an easier option would have been to employ canned noise or vary the volume to eradicte said chanting.

This is Leeds we're talking about chaps. They cant approach a website forum without using foul language and insulting people, what hope do you have when 17000 or so natives are going to be grouped together ?

I think its a fantastic opportunity to remove a fair percentage of them from existence in one swoop.

I detect a somewhat hypocritical stance here from the clubs.
On the one hand we have Peacock and Wilkin stoking things up in the press, presumably with the tacit support of the respective clubs. Yet at the same time have this pious self-righteousness about stamping out 'obscene' chanting and actually encouraging people to grass others up.
Rugby League is a passionate sport, played by passionate people and watched by equally passionate people. On occasion those passions will spill over, on and off the pitch. It is all part of what makes it the Greatest Game. Lets stop trying to over-sanitise it, least of all for the sake of a Sunday afternoon TV audience.
