I think it would be slightly disrespectful to associate the great Eric Ashton with a pre-season friendly in which we field our reserves with a couple of first-teamers.

Present a trophy to the winner of the Good Friday game, and call that the Eric Ashton trophy.

Nowt wrong with having a trophy named after a legend, but its not like we have a pre season friendly every year, so it may become a bit of a sham.

I think a trophy for every game between saints and wigan would be awesome, it would add some extra spice to the fixture, seriously how much does it cost for two clubc to chip in for a trophy? Us and wire should do the same for Mike Greg.
