Oxford v London Skolars
The appointments for our game this weekend have been appearing and disappearing from the official list on the RFL website. At the moment they are not there, but this is what I managed to retrieve earlier in the week. It may be that a name has changed, which is why it is no longer up.
Referee: Andrew Sweet (Leeds)
This will be his eighth time as referee for a competitive Oxford game, which is more than anyone else (he previously held the record of seven jointly with Mike Woodhead and Scott Mikalauskas). Previous games:
23/06/2013 - South Wales 6 Oxford 28 (penalties 9-4 in favour of Oxford)
04/08/2013 - Hemel 30 Oxford 16 (penalties 3-6 against)
02/03/2014 - Oxford 19 London Skolars 12 (penalties 8-11 against, sinbinned Chris Clarke)
31/08/2014 - Oxford 29 South Wales 22 (penalties 9-8 in favour)
08/03/2015 - Hemel 10 Oxford 22 (Challenge Cup) (penalties 11-9 in favour)
03/05/2015 - Newcastle 36 Oxford 20 (penalties 9-5 in favour, sinbinned both Adam Brook and Matty Blythe)
16/05/2015 - Rochdale 76 Oxford 16 (penalties 7-5 in favour)
This photo is from the 2014 game against London Skolars, where he is receiving the match ball from the then Lord Mayor of Oxford.
Touch Judge: Paul Stockman (York and Selby)
Third known Oxford game, the last being the League 1 Cup Round 1 win over Coventry earlier this season. This isn’t the best photo of him that I found but as I am listening to The Stone Roses whilst typing this I thought I should use it.
Touch Judge: James Jones (South Wales)
Third touch judge appearance in an Oxford game, the last being against South Wales exactly 53 weeks and 1 day ago. Also was down to referee an Oxford reserve game in South Wales last season. Former full-time rah-rah referee.
Reserve Referee: Tom Scott
Third time as reserve referee for Oxford, both of the other two also being at Tilsley Park. Last time was the last game of last season, against North Wales.
Match Commissioner: Barry Lilley
Has some experience as match commissioner - he did the 2012 Grand Final (one of the teams were Warrington, so you already know that it was the other team who won) and also the 2014 Challenge Cup Final. Has also performed the role at three other Oxford games, but this is his first time at Tilsley Park.
