| Tommorrow is the club big dreby match with the UoG All Golds, Supporters Club have ask Club Coach Tim his thoughts on this match and the season and this is Tim reply. The Supporters Club would like to say thank-you Tim for your time. Keep up the great work.
It's been a tough season that's for sure . We have a very young team and I believe the lack of experience is our biggest issue. I can't fault the efforts of our players and at the beginning of the season we looked promising . The 1st game against Newcastle I was able to pick my strongest team ....since then we've had injuries and our dual reg partners have also been injury hit ,resulting in them not been able to offer us players to strengthen our team.
Work is going on behind the scenes to bring the club upto standard in terms of professionalism and I am pushing for certain things that will improve the playing environment and the club as a whole. It's a big job and we need the help of everyone who has an interest in Oxford RL. The club now need to broaden it's horizons in terms of gaining commercial revenue from sponsorship. This will allow us to strengthen on and off the field . We have great staff here , Chris baxter and garry dunn are very good coaches and it's been a pleasure working with them this year.
Our immediate goals are to pick some wins up and finish the season as high up the table as possible. I am speaking to players about joining us for the rest of the season and one such player will make his debut on sun. Jack pickles is an experienced forward having played at York and Hunslet and he will come into the squad this week. They may be a couple more coming in shortly .
Stick with us and together we can make a difference !
Tim
