| The last rugby league game I saw at Wrexham included Greg Inglis, Cameron Smith and Billy Slater (who got injured). I'll be looking for similar quality from the 19-man squad named for Oxford on the RFL website this week:
Nathaniel, Kitson, Allan, Hoggins, Brooker, Canterbury, Smith, Bustin, Williams, Siddons, Maher, Holmes, Igbinedion, Greene, Baird, Evans, Carter, Withington, McAllister
So I think that's:
Joshua Nathaniel, Nathan Kitson, Danny Allan, Andy Hoggins, Marcus Brooker, Casey Canterbury, Jack Smith, Callum Bustin, Williams, Jordan Siddons, Will Maher, Tom Holmes, Dan Igbinedion, Charlie Greene, JJ Baird, Luke Evans, Errol Carter, Adam Withington, Clark McAllister
Not sure about Williams, but London Broncos do have an 18-year-old full back called Jordan Williams.
Dual reg:
Callum Bustin (London Broncos - centre), Will Maher, Tom Holmes (both Castleford) plus possibly Williams
Compared to last week:
Out - Kieran Gill (broken arm last week), Jim Cryer (went off injured early on last week), Andy Matthews, Harvey Burnett, Scott Lee, Santino Decaro, Adam Flintham
In - Joshua Nathaniel, Nathan Kitson, Danny Allan (all unable to travel to France due to work), Callum Bustin, Williams, Will Maher, Errol Carter
North Wales - Tommy Johnson, Rob Massam, Earl Hurst, Stuart Reardon, Scott Turner, Ryan Smith, Andy Moulsdale, Jonny Walker, Lee Hudson, Kenny Baker, Luke Warburton, Stephen Wild, Simon Atherton, Matt Wilkinson, Ryan Millington, Tommy Holland, Elliott Liku, Jack Hansen, Jake Bibby
Dual reg:
Matt Wilkinson, Jake Bibby (both Salford). Not sure if any others.
No place for Alex Thompson who did play their last three games but has a hip strain. Jordan Andrade played for them once earlier this season on dual reg but obviously is now at Halifax on loan.
Preview from North Wales website:
AHEAD of this Sunday’s Kingstone Press League One fixture against Oxford, head coach Anthony Murray believes that his squad are starting to gel well after a tough opening to the campaign. On the opening fixtures against Barrow, Doncaster, Rochdale, Newcastle, London and Hemel Murray said: “We learnt a lot about ourselves in those opening games. It was a real tough start to have Barrow, Doncaster, Rochdale and London all in our opening few fixtures. The lads were working hard and we weren’t far off at all. We were more than competing for at least 60 minutes in all of those games. And, the early signs were positive.”
Focusing on this weeks opponents, Oxford, Murray believes that Oxford “have a strong side that will be more than up for trying to get a win at the Racecourse. We need to put in a performance like we did at Hemel where we never really looked like losing the game.”
Murray also added that he’s hoping to have Stuart Reardon back, as well as a home return for Andy Moulsdale who ran out in the second half against Hemel: “We’re hoping to have a few more bodies available, Stuart Reardon hopefully making his return and obviously Andy Moulsdale is back. “He (Andy Moulsdale) showed some really good leadership qualities when he came on against Hemel. Though, that should take nothing away from Jack (Hansen), Ryan (Smith) and also Ryan Millington who are all performing well and providing some great competition at half back.”
